Weren't you the one saying martin should be given a chance & not judged on his inexperience. Perhaps you should do the same with Seaborne, no difference really. Lets give him a fair shout shall we. Adkins obviously has.
No he wasn't. Watch the goal again on the bbc site. Pause the screen at 47 seconds, Butterfield is with his man. He then follows him inside and the player that De Ridder should have picked up has moved forward 20 yards, level to the 18 yard line. De ridder should be with him, he's not (50 secs). Butterfield tries to get out to him, but can't. Martin then chose to go with the wrong man. He was never going to get to the ball ahead of the front man and should have tracked the man coming in deeper.
I'm attempting to listen/watch England vs India, Durham vs Hants, and Barnsley vs Saints all at the same time. I might have just heard "Hammond is out, bowled Mascarenhas, caught Strauss).
Butterfield lost the ball in the first place but actually Seaborne was at fault for the goal then. Seaborne was pulled towards the ball and when the ball came in Martin still had is man but Seaborne ended up on the wrong side of defense (Seaborne was playing left centre). Definitely wasn't Martin's fault.
England win! Beat India by an innings and 242 runs and are officially world no. 1. At least we can concentrate on the Saints now... come on you yellows!
Sorry to be totally off-topic, but England have just beaten India brilliantly, to become the number 1 Cricket Test side in the World. Fantastic..!
this si what I thought as well, I think he's just out to get martin because of his own experiences against him, thats what I think anyway
Dammit why do Barnsley have to have a player called Butterfield? I keep getting so confused listening to the commentary
At what level? i played up front so know exactly how a centre back should play. What Seaborne did was correct, what butterfield did was correct. Martin should have r ead the situation and dropped 5.
Guly losing the ball too easily the man said, Sebo to the rescue not for the first time. As usual good chances gone begging.
Anyone else seen that Pompey have signed Benjani (aged 33)? He's just been unveiled to a 'surprised' Fratton faithful.
