Ok guys starts this week who does everyone fancy I'm going with Russell Henley after winning Houston only gets in because he won so 120 on betfair isn't too bad he had a rough 2016 so worth a little punt
Also Danny Willett to repeat last year's heroics is 190 again on betfair GL if you play

With a couple of bookies paying top 8 there's plenty of each way value to be had.

    Justin Rose 25/1
    Tyrell Hatton 50/1
    Marc Leishman 60/1
    Rafael Cabrera Bello 125/1

    Done mine last night

    Jordan Spieth 8/1
    Justin Rose 25/1
and Russell Henley 150/1 (took just after last night's win. PP kept him at 150 two hours after he won. Best price 100/1 now)

Fave weekends of the year, Masters and GN weekend <cheers>

I've been on a betfair rampage in the hope i can lay some of these off at a profit after the first days play. I think i need two of them to put in a decent show and i'll be in business.

Soren Kjeldsen 150/1 - had the best tee to green stats here last year and with the wind due to blow around 20-30 mph it will suit the Swede who's low ball flight has worked well in conditions as proven when winning a very blustery Irish Open in 2015. Not the longest off the tee by any stretch but he's very accurate and putting well recently. He's in form and can make the frame if putting it all together over the 4 days.

Marc Leishman 66/1 - a recent winner on tour and has tended to prove his knack for popping up among the leaders in the big events this past 5 seasons without getting the job done. Buoyed by that confidence and again another good wind player, I can see a big 4 days for the big Aussie.

Brooks Koepka 80/1 - had to at least have one bomber on side and in Brooks I have a guy who can demolish the course with the driver. If his short game is on and the putter, which is usually decent then he will have a good run at his first green jacket. Far too big of a price here.

3 of those I have backed and that will do me. The form horses here tend to come back and do well year in year out as it is the only major held at the same venue each year. All the usual suspects will be thereabouts but I can't be interested in the single figures when they are all capable of beating each other any given week. I hope the weather doesn't spoil it too much and that we have a great tournament once more.

Other notables to watch: Thomas Pieters, Emiliano Grillo, John Rahm and Justin Thomas. 4 young guys and all exceptional players. Rahm has the ability and focus to potentially dominate the game, I flagged him up here 2 years back when he was leading Amateur and it's great to see him breakthrough this past season and a half. Glad he's on our side for future Ryder cups.

Have a good one folks <ok>

As Sky Bet are paying first 8 I thought I'd get involved here.

Phil Mickelson 25/1 and Henrik Stenson 30/1 are my selections.

I think it's gonna be one of those strange tournaments like last year where the winner is only a few shots under par, as the weather is pretty bad.

Looking at things as they are, the player that stands out to me on that leaderboard is not the obvious choice, yer we have major champions Rose and Spieth, but I just feel Ricky Fowler could be the man to take this.

He's been knocking on the major door for a while, and I think he has more bottle than anyone on that leaderboard. I've watched him win a 3 way play off for the players championship on the 17th, hitting every shot centre of the green, and I've seen him see off Stenson with brilliant shot after brilliant shot up the back nine of a fed ex play off event.

He's one of those players who's either very good or very bad, but this week he looks like he's on one of those purple patches where he's just going to play well, and if it ends up into a battle, like it looks like it probably will, he would be the player I'd strongly fancy to win.

A lot of people would love to see Garcia finally win a major, but is he good enough under pressure with the putter? I would say no. Likewise Rose to a lesser extent, yes Rose does have a US Open win to his credit, but he still worrys me with those pressure putts.

Bang on the money regarding Garcia and his putting when under pressure Ricky Fowler could be the man but with so many guys on her with dough on Justin rose I'll be cheering him on as my money went halfway into the 2nd day.....C'mon the rose lol ;)

Well the putter is going to be the deciding factor with Rose, tee to green there aren't many better, so if he does putt well he will most likely win. Could say the same with Garcia aswell though.
