Quality thread Scott I must say. It's going to be a really tough test against a top quality side. Performance will be everything as we can't really be expected to get anything there. If we can put up a good show and compete it will stand the players in good stead for the season. I think we'll win some new friends with our style of play but not any points (hope I'm wrong though)
Mabon/Phil, any chance of un-stickying this? It disappears from the Man City board when it's a sticky on here...
Daily Mail article by Buck`s mate. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...y-away-game-mate-s---3-points-guaranteed.html
If we can show the world the way we play and still get beat by just 2 or 3 goals I won't be too unhappy. The gulf in class is phenomenal. I'm gutted Taylor is still out - I completely forgot. Hope Tatey can prove me wrong but he is likely to get is ass handed to him at left back. If we get thumped by 4 or 5 + goals it'll do our lads' confidence no good at all. A draw or better and we'll be in dreamland but I don't see it. The best we can hope for this season is beating the teams who are likely to be around us and making the Liberty a bit of a fortress. Still think we'll be well clear of relegation at the reckoning.

Just done so Scotty! Great thread Scotty mate, well done, and that article in the Guardian all Jacks should read, let's hope Samuel L. Jackson is right, football's a funny old game, here's wishing all the very best for our boys on Monday night! Up the Mighty Jacks, Shame about QPR aye!............... please log in to view this image
Cheers Phil! ONE DAY LEFT PEOPLE! What is the most excessive pre-match preparation/ritual anyone has indulged in?
http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/...ign=Feed: theguardian/football/rss (Football) Rodgers on Marcos Senna; So it looks like it was actually US that pulled the plug on that one! Fair play, I agree with Rodgers on that. It could have caused unrest in the camp if someone was earning so much more than anyone else in the squad. Rodgers on signings; Let's hope Kemy steps up!
Keep to our principles no matter what league we are in, I fully agree with Rodgers on this even if he was the difference on staying up, of course I want us to stay up but there is a limit, I just think that if we went ahead it would lead to other things being done, like this player is only asking another £10k a week, lets get him! Then we can still go down and be saddled with players on huge wages, that could lead to a situation like hull, they have players on over £40k a week on their books, they were reckless in contracts to players and didn't cover themselves for relegation, I know we have!
Completely Jager. I doubt we'd have been offering more than 30kpw on a one year deal, but that'd still be head and shoulders above anybody else in our squad which could have caused friction. I do, however, get the sense we're still in the market for a midfielder and Buck & Huw might yet spring a surprise or two....
With Chelsea drawing today it means that whoever wins this match will be in the top 4. Let's hope it's us. Top clubs haven't had a good start so far.
I was just thinking that! A repeat of 1981 would have us top of the table at present (if my understanding of goal difference is correct. ie if two teams are plus 4 it'll go on "goals scored" first?)! Exciting times!
