Was out cycling with some fiends this morning and as we c cycled past White Rose Polo Club someone mentioned about the amateur team being asked to pay an extra 3k to hold their final at the KCOM (figure maybe wrong) it was mentioned that if the pitch was big enough Escab would offer it to his Polo cronies in a heart beat. I just wish some paparazzi would get a shot of him hard up against one of his ponies.!
That last sentence reminds me of the story challenged the well known American wit Dorothy Parker to insert the word horticulture into a wisecrack. She immediately responded with "You can lead a horticulture but you can't make her think".
He played polo on it just before the pitch was completely re-laid. He may be a vindictive thin-skinned insecure deluded **** but he's not a brainless vindictive thin-skinned insecure deluded ****.
400 difference is **** all, attendances dropped by less than 2%. We still had 20,500 pass-holders, against the 12,000 odd we have now.
I dont post on here a lot but these are my opinions, not that they mean a lot. I packed in my pass two seasons ago. I went to quite a few home and away games last season but with the advent of the new Membership scheme I decided to pack in going. Fed up with the complete lot of it with allam continuing his vindictiveness towards supporters I said bollox to it. Now there are those on here who said the loss of approximately 5000 pass holders would make no difference to allam. Well, I think this latest news has proved you wrong. The closure of the UW and the news that he says about increasing attendances is just a lie. It is also a lie that the figures for attendances are believable. There have been games this season where there were hardly 15000 in the ground yet massaged figures stated gates of 17/18000 or more. Take away the away followings and gates have dropped for an all time low during our tenure in this league. Fact is in Div 1 and the Championship we were getting far bigger crowds. Many of the 5000, like me, who stopped going were long time, old school supporters. They have stated that they will never return until this family have gone. Many may never return because they have found other things to occupy their time. Allam must be worrying about gate figures especially the amount of stay away long time supporters. With the latest bombshell about memberships released yesterday, how many more are just going to say to hell with it and pack them in. How much longer are the moderate supporters going to continue to go until they get absolutely fed up to the teeth with the treatment consistantly being dished out by this herbert. And what of next season? The major gamble that allam has taken in the transfer window could yet turn out to be successful dependent on results from now on in. But if they are not succesful then Silva and his team will walk, as per their contracts, the loanees that have cost a fortune will return to their parent clubs and players will be sold in the summer. The likes of Tyman, Robertson and Maguire will all go leaving the club in a worse state than it was at pre season this season. He will struggle to find a manager because no one was interested to take the job because of the way he has treated former employees previously. I see a dire situation next season if we are relegated. I see us dropping down the leagues with a flood of supporters walking away for good. The only saving grace will be that he sells up at the first opportunity. That said, will anyone else be interested in buying given the mess he made of trying to sell the club to various interested parties earlier this season. Put it this way, would you want to deal with a man like this? Its a dire and sad situation. But you are dealing with a pig headed individual who seems hell bent on ruining the football club.
Reduce attendance down to 1000 loyal Allam supporters, ballot them about changing the name to Hull Tigers (in League 1). Use it as evidence of support for name change. Have name change ratified by football league. Reintroduce concessions (but not as concessions, something like the "cub scheme"). Sell club.
