    Assuming the fee has been agreed, surely there is scope for Carroll to refuse to move, he's got 5 years on his contract. The money might turn his head but I don't think he wants to leave, he'll not get away with half the stuff he has up here if he leaves his comfort zone.

    He is worth more to us than 35million. And who are we gonna attract in the same class as him and is gonna want less than the 30k a week we are paying AC. Have a chat m8.

    The Editor: Some shrewd punters got 16/1 with Sky Bet this morning for Andy Carroll to join Liverpool but that was backed down to 1/5.
    Betting on the striker moving to Anfield has now been suspended.
