I never likened them to H&G saint, I merely said that they'll get the same treatment as the shysters if they don't finish the upgrade in light of EFC building a new stadium.
The reds I speak to are of the opinion FSG could and should do more to help us keep up with others that we were miles ahead not so long ago.

I don't think John Henry (Fenway sports) are going to cut and run. George and Tom brought the club into disrepute.

Fair enough - perhaps I misunderstood.
FSG are businessmen, so they're going to look after their own interests first, and the degree of investment that best fits that aim is open to debate, I suppose.
H&G were cowboys looking to live the high life by loading the club with debt. They brought us to the brink of oblivion and shouldn't even be mentioned in the same breath, imo.

    just a quick question:

    everton new ground

"Liverpool City Council said it would act as a guarantor to help Everton secure funding for the project."

why isn't everton's owner doing this?

    LFC's owner back our project.

An extension and running down of the local community is nothing to be proud of.

But a focus point for a great regeneration project is.

    It's only a guarantor.

Enables the club to borrow. The money and make a tidy profit for the council. A bit like the finch farm deal. Benefits both sides.

But I sure the regeneration would still happen with our without the stadium, but this will be a focus and a driver for others to get involved.

It's being called an 'innovative finance model'. The Council's anxious to get the regeneration going as it benefits the whole city. Also it's about Everton's 4th go at moving, the Council acting as guarantor could speed things up a bit, they have a higher credit rating than EFC, which will enable them to get loans with lower interest rates, plus their owner won't be financing it, from what I've heard.

The council will now finalise the terms of the agreement between Everton and Peel over the next three months, which will presumably be used by the council and club to create a Special Purpose Vehicle company in order to secure funds for the new stadium. After that time, Everton will be able to prepare a planning application and push on with their attempts to secure funding.

<laugh> now we see why the deal has taken so long to announce

"Billionaire" Moshiri isn't able or willing to put any money towards the stadium, or even just the ~£30m fee for the land

He needs Liverpool council to lend him some credibility while he searches for finance to load 40 years of debt onto EFC

At least they're planning to put some money aside to cover rent if relegated though <laugh> #ambition

Anyway just another year and Everton will see if they get planning permission, I'm sure that's when we're all supposed to start #choking and losing our heads

    @Tobes @Justovertheline @PJS - BACK AND BOSSING IT good luck with your #fraud <cheers>

    £115m interest-free loan from FSG.

For a single stand. Moshiri is searching for a sucker who believes you can build an entire stadium on water for £300m.

No wonder he doesn't want to put any of his own money in.

Great to log in and see that your head has already fallen off, as predicted.

Moshiri has already wiped out our debt which was costing us £6m a year to service, he's also got his mate agree to give us £5m a year for sticking his holding companies name on Finch Farm lol. That's £11m of the £15m per year costs of the new ground already covered.

The fact that the council are guarantoring the loan is genius as it means they're going to fully support the application

Bitter Kopites everywhere on the net, loving it.

    <laugh> #predictable response there Tobes

No reply to Moshiri's #joke of a financing plan that heaps debt on the club for a generation, so you resort to "but he paid off our old debt"

BTW you quickly forgot how he bought your club on the cheap in the first place by agreeing to "pay off" that debt

He gave you an £80m interest-free loan to enable him to take control of the club, and is now loading you up with £300m+ high-interest debt

It was costing you £6m a year to service the old debt and now you're paying £4m a year to the council plus interest for the new debt <laugh> #progress

    #fraud #exposed

    Hahahaha your bitterness is quality

High interest? Go have another look love

Just wait until his mate does a naming deal on it for £15m a year <laugh>

Get over to rawk mate, they're loving to over there <rofl> you'll find plenty of kindred spirits
