I read on here regulalrly that this season has been a disaster and that given our squad we should be doing much better - but what is much better, and how far away from that are we?

Apart from a few dreamers on here, most of us at the start of the season in the various end of season position threads had us to finish between 12-17, well points wise we are only 6-10 points off that, and had some of the players in this so called 'great squad' showed why some fans value them that highly we may be in that position now. We have never been hammered this season, unlike some teams way above us, and with bigger better and more expensive squads than us.

Go back to when we started the bad run, we had been in good form and a series of really bad misses and very poor defensive lapses cost us late points in games. This was before the rot set in and morale was down etc, so I know everyone has thrown it all at LJ, I have always and still do feel that the players let him down early on this season and caused the bad run. We are not all that far away from where realistically this squad should see us in the table, and this has to be what SL thinks as well, which is why he is sticking by LJ this season. He and probably the club can ill afford another manager coming in in the post season and resetting the squad and ergo timeline on improvement.

I think we are still short a good keeper, RB, CB, LM, RM and CF (once Cotterill and Tammy's loans finish) from being a top 10 or top 6 team, so a lot of work to do regardless of who the manager is come next season.

not really correct but get the drift didn't expect us to win it! I think most were above 12th
As per my thread on 2016 v 2017 we are 2 points worse off with a "better squad" last season GF34 GA 58 GD -24 this GF 46 GA 53 GD -7 whilst defence is "marginally better" scoring has shown a big improvement!

Neither manager nor board have a clear idea of what they are doing
A chronic lack of experience in the manager, and a rank amateur pulling the strings

Yes JG, it looks like business as usual down in BS3….

We have been asking the same questions for years and as yet we have no answers, just guff and drivel from the top. I fear for the rest of this season and am terrified what Leapy Lee will dream up, or make up, for the next time out. Total unabated incompetence from Bristol City and it won't change soon with this lot still there.
