So, Warburton to Forest and Rowlet to Derby 2 clubs who are being run by people who are serious about what they are doing.
Forest and Derby are 2 teams that have been there and done that whereas Bristol City continue to wander around the desert like lost camels under the direction of people who wouldn't know what a football team should be if it bit them in the arse. Lansdown hasn't got a clue so he goes out and employs people of the same ilk and if he finds out otherwise he stamps on them and withdraws to his own netherworld.
I'm not so sure about Forest given their money issues and their owners attitude with the managerial ins and outs over recent years, but there is no doubting that both Derby County and Nottingham Forest are ambitious clubs trying to ensure that they appoint decent managers to move them in the right direction. Whereas we don't have a clue.. !
Do you have any idea what mess Florest are in to be making silly put downs? They are a mess at the moment ran by foreign investors. Derby sacked a perfectly good manager in Paul Clement, who had them playing well last season and it went tits up after. So if you want to run down (constantly) the running of City I suggest you get your head out your arse and look into these clubs first.
What the heck are they thinking of by actually trying to employ managers who can get the job done? Just who do they think they are? What a joke we are when you look at others and their business dealings, but nothing in this sport is guaranteed but at least they have seen the need for change and the possible opportunities it offers. We just bury our heads in the sand, or up somebody's backside, and hope that we reappear to the delight of everything smelling of roses. You reap what you sow is an old adage but we haven't even bought the right seeds yet so how the hell does SL expect us to grow and prosper?
I'm nowhere near the only one who is fed up with the running of Bristol City ROD and the truth is I hate what is happening down at Ashton Gate just the same as you but I'm more than willing to state my point, and remember it is only my point and I respect the right of others to criticize me and post their side of the same story because that is what this site is all about.
I'm in agreement with ROD - if you suggest to your average Forest fans that their owners are ambitious and serious about what they are doing then they'd likely laugh in your face. With their resources, they ought to be well capable of making the playoffs, so arguably are performing worse than us, relative to expectations. Also with Derby, there's an argument that they've gone backwards under their current owner who has been rather trigger happy in his short spell. 'They're clubs that have been there & done that'... how many years back are you going? Brian Clough's achievements have close to f**k all bearing on where they are today, except maybe increase pressure on the current sides. Look, I've been LJ out for a few months now, on the basis that the side set a record of consecutive defeats, & earning so few points over a significant period of time, but I don't agree that sacking managers willy nilly is the sign of a successful club with 'ambition'. There are plenty of sticks to beat the manager & the club with, without holding up (comparatively) underperforming teams as an example we should be following. Alex Neil was good enough to win promotion, make a decent enough fist of battling relegation, but is now total s***e... such is the view of managers.
