So, Pardew not interested, Rowett to Derby, allegedly so after an extensive and exhaustive scouring of the entire solar system, step forward Alan Irvine http://footballleagueworld.co.uk/ex...next-norwich-boss-despite-widespread-rumours/
Christ, this makes me laugh. Garry Monk, FFS? Why would anyone leave a fourth placed club to drop several league places (and a current 12 point advantage) to join a headless chicken of a club with no CEO, no money and a prancing-around-on-the-telly-in-his-spare-time non-executive chairman? Calm down and let's have some realism, dudes "The bookies were this morning offering odds of around 8-1 for Rowett to be the next Norwich manager. Alan Pardew was favourite with many, followed by Roy Hodgson and Mark Warburton. Ex-Newcastle boss Alan Pardew and Roy Hodgson, another former England manager, were also in the betting, alongside Mark Warburton, Claudio Ranieri and Garry Monk. Pardew’s odds are perhaps a touch flattering as it is understood he is not in the frame. But much may depend on what the club reveal this week about changes in the club’s structure. If, for example, they decide not to appoint a new chief executive and go with a director of football role, that will change the complexion of the managerial post."
A Derby fan here at work seems very confident that they will get Rowett. Apparently he lives in Derby. Couple that with a club who seem to have more money than us and I could see why he would plum for Derby over us. That said if I were our board, I would point out our relative patience (He'd have a job for 10 years!) with managers and Derby's high turn over. Monk appears far fetched at the moment, but if they fail to go up then why not? Its not like Leeds is a plum job, with a supportive board (Ooops neither is ours!) It would of course mean seeing out the season with Irvine. I'd rather have someone come in now to assess the squad. Someone with experience preferably. Please not the wally with the brolley though. Bah!
I really thought Rowett would be a great fit for us. Derby fans seem delighted with the idea of getting him. Our board probably like him a lot too, just haven't got round to picking the phone up yet.
Say what you like about McNAlly but at least it seemed that there was a plan B in place. Clearly Neil had been being watched before Adams was sacked/quit. I guess the next few days will highlight whether the current set up had their head in the sand and are now in full reactive mode, or whether they had any proactive thoughts prior to his sacking, they bloody well ought to have had, given the teams run upto christmas. Bah!
Sorted. Lovely This ties up all of Delia's loose ends - unless she dithers around and waits until everyone else with a vacancy has spoken to him first
Pardew 'keen' to talk to City http://www.skysports.com/football/n...n-pardew-keen-to-talk-to-norwich-over-vacancy
To be honest, I´m not quite sure what all the fuss is, about Rowett. He´s only proven that he can get a Club up into the Championship and keep them there. That´s the sort of CV I´d be happy with , but I didn´t think it would be good enough for the rest of you
He was 'flavour of the month' whilst at Burton and there were a few clubs eyeing him before Brum got him. But his reputation won't have been damaged by getting an average Birmingham side into consecutive top 10 finishes.. particularly on a small budget. His football has been likened to McCarthy's.. which whilst not a million miles from the truth is doing the bloke a disservice as he does atleast try to win matches. I expect he'll be a manager that flits between the top two divisions and in 15 years time he'll be the new benchmark for championship success... Much like a Hughton or a Bruce etc. so you could do a lot worse
