Was that down to Moyes? or was it greed by M'Villa or his parent club? we never actually got any facts so it's all speculation. Doubt we'll ever know the truth but he would have been a massive signing for us and I doubt we'd be in this predicament had he come to us. I think the figures being bandied about at the time were circa 8m, a snip at that price imo.

Well, as M'Vila flew in on deadline day to try and complete a deal it seems that, at that stage, he wanted to be here. But the ins and outs of the M'Vila transfer are I side issue really. What I was really getting at is that, even when you set aside the lack of money, the player acquisitions under Moyes have not really addressed what was required. We looked like we had the potential to improve before Allardyce left and that shouldn't have changed after he left- the potential was still there. But its not been realised.

Exactly this, Moyes made a mess of our pre season recruitment and wasted the money he was given, why we should place faith in him getting it right if we go down is not clear, we are in a fix and its my guess it could get worse.

Isn't it odd that several previous managers who have kept us up have been replaced quite quickly yet the one who will probably take us down is looking likely to be kept on.

I know Sam's case was a bit out of our hands but the above is the pattern of our seasons since Reidy.

I voted to keep Moyes by the way.

Something to do with the owner giving up methinks. I too am for Moyes staying on, for now, but its more to do with a lack of faith in the board, than anything Moyes has shown us so far.

I think Moyes would have done really well at a nice stable, established club, like West Brom or someone, where he could slowly build something and get them pushing for Europe.
What we needed was someone with verve to come in and have an instant impact. To shake up our under-performers and to drag performances out of them. We needed radical ideas and innovative approaches to the various problems at the club.
Unfortunately, David Moyes isn't the man to do that and we're the wrong club for him. That's not his fault. Its Ellis Short's (and the people around him) for, yet again, not having sufficient knowledge of the sport.

Was it only about 3 or so weeks ago where a win would have taken us up to 15th place.

Now we need 7 points and the three directly above us to lose the next 3 games to get to 17th place.

    That happened quickly.

History has shown for Sunderland over the last few years that if you change your manager then that has contributed to many of our great escapes. Short nailed his flag to Moyes mast by stating he was the manager he wanted prior to the last five appointments. So basically the change of manager is not going to happen as it would add to the many f*ck ups that he has done. We started by getting the two points from the opening 10 games....before a dynamic changed. That dynamic was one Victor Anichebe because all of a sudden we had two players up front who could hurt teams. A 'Big Lad' who could hold the ball up. This concept has never been thought of before in the history of football.....lol.....right? The downside to this master plan was the 'Big Lad' was injury prone but as things picked up at the end of December low and behold there was something called a January Window Transfer where we could sign another 'Big Lad'......did we do that.....did we f*ck. Total madness or the decision was made to go down and restructure? Decision was made within the club that it is relegation....clear a lot of the wage bill and start again. The whole Khazri debacle at the moment I think the fans need an explanation. Bain and Moyes has been trying to show the club is more transparent....to be honest I think it's going to the opposite way. Taking the team to New York really? Take them to Seaburn and run the nuts off them there. Remember we have to save every penny right?

I think that's probably fair, you all appear to be asking the same question, yet nobody from inside the club is giving you feedback on that.

The common sense logic, is that he's either unfit for 90 mins, or he's got some sort of activation due in his contract if he starts any more games... possibly relating to minutes, even goals... imagine if the lad is being sent on and told not to score a goal, nobody knows what's in that lad's contract, but we do know your bank account is effectively drier than a camel's fanny in a sandstorm.

If I had any faith that the current manager was the right man to rebuild us and bring us back up I'd think it was madness to sack him.

However. Moyes is finished. He knew it from day one. He's shown absolutely nothing to suggest he's the right man for Sunderland whichever division we find ourselves in next season.

His signings have been am embarrassment and reek of a man who has lost all touch with the market.

Who can I sign, hmmm who have I coached before. Genius.

We've relied heavily on loans over the years. This numpty wastes one of those on Manquillo who along with Donald Love sits on playing back up to Billy Jones who was merely a reserve last season himself.

All eggs in one basket with Ulloa in January.

Whilst we had a non domestic loan to use on a striker, Adrian Ramos went to Granada???

Sidney Sam went to Darmstadt ffs. He'd walk into our team.

We spent £4m on a crock who has hardly played for 4 years whilst Moritz Leitner went to Augsburg for less than £2m .

Do we have scouts watching the Bundesliga? Ligue 1? Serie A?

    No problem Norton.

    This is what you do.

Log into New Members sticky tab and find email address that Tel set up.

Request new membership, providing appropriate email address and password.

Tel informs mods on here who then passes on details to Supermods.

Wait a month or so until the supermods turn up and sort it out for you. Took me that long last year but I think its because the Supermods can only be contacted through a ouija board.

Tel will let you know when it's done.

Log in on new member name.

    Find thread and post.

I don't think Moyes is up to much but I don't think any proper manager would take the job.

It's not a proper job. It's a payoff waiting to happen and a failure on your CV.
