McHonda not been seen for over 2 hours.. Rumours of another engine failure... Alonso may not be everyone's cup of tea but the guy is one of the best racers out there, he's had nothing of note to fight with for the last few years, damn shame if you ask me!
Red Bull and Mercedes send representatives to go and stand outside the McLaren garage to give their support to the beleaguered team.......... please log in to view this image
What are the odds of them reverting back to full 2016 spec for reliability reasons? It was getting better, but surely anything must be better than what they have at the moment unless they can work out what is going on? Essentially, each engine is barely lasting an average of 25 laps/75 miles. I think only the leg-end-ary Life W12 has a worse reliability record than that, but was possibly more powerful
Woeful from Honda. Ignorance, stubbornness and ineptitude all on all counts from them. I know McLaren are not everyone's cup of tea but this is not their fault. They needed a works engine to be in with a shout (they realised in 2014 that they would never get the same as the works Merc engine) and Honda have absolutely ****ing failed them sadly. Why the **** are Japanese apprentice engineers working on the most complex engine technology F1 has ever seen? Get some Merc guys in as consultants, get the base right and go from there. THEY ARE YET TO COMPLETE TEN CONSECUTIGE LAPS FFS. This is their THIRD SEASON. ruining our spectacle
At this rate, the McHonda drivers are better off using Flintstones power! They have under 3 weeks to save their F1 future.. if they get a double unit failure in the first race, which is very likely, then the names Horner was calling Renault will be nothing compared to the fireworks being sent in Honda's direction from all at McLaren!
Another day, another dead Honda. I had little faith in them, but I never thought It'd be worse than last year. Will they finish in Australia?
Roll up, roll up, how many laps will McLaren last in Australia? or How many engines will they go through over the race weekend?
Its not just embarrassing for McLaren and Honda, but also F1. I feel for both Alonso and Button who persevered for the greater good, but for me the blame has to stop with Ron. He made this decision and watched over the transition with Honda and they are effectively going to be an unreliable backmarker again! Not only do Honda reputedly contribute a sizeable chunk of McLaren’s annual budget but their reunion was founded on a ten-year contract – and we’re only in year three.
They must be pretty confident on their Aero correlation if they plan on hiding their updates until Aus.
I dunno... how radical can it be and how much adv do they think they can get from it for those 3 away races the funny thing is ferrari looks well ahead of them right now but thats with std red bull aero package. what can you add to a car thats not the floor or wings that can make up a second or so?
Where the hell have Williams come from today? Maybe they had that performance all along but we couldn't tell because the car was always sticking out of a wall. Don't know if it's real pace but that car looks pretty solid all round, it's certainly got some speed and reliability.
maybe but it is on supers. ferrari within 2 tenths on just softs. Its good but where does it really reside? the numbe rof laps is much better though.
There are some teams showing some speed now. You just wonder whether on the last day Mercedes will drop the hammer and go and do a 1.17 just to depress the paddock.
Trying not to get too excited.. but bloody hell, I do hope the pace Ferrari are showing is genuine, if so, Merc have one hell of a fight on their hands. Along with RB winding up the wick.. lets hope for a repeat of the 2010/2012 season where more than one team and two cars were involved in championship!
