Is he being made the scapegoat in all of this? Rumours of Millen coming in as number 2? I think Lansdown has well and truly lost the plot if so.
Not heard anything about Millen or LJ, though that's not to say nothing has happened. All I know is that Pembo is definitely gone. Not to go all RR/Daily Mail on this, but this worries me slightly. No single individual should have such an ability to affect results, aside from the manager. I.e. the only reason he would have been sacked in my mind is due to some sort of misdemeanour. That, or he's walked himself.
Rarely go in to otib but I did see this and the suggestion was that there was an incident similar to that at Plymouth once before
I liked Pembo, thought he did a really good job of steadying the ship after Cotterills sacking. he played the team in the manner most fans were crying out for after Cotts sacking and I thought our survival was down more to him than Johnson at the time? Shame.
Yeah I agree in that he seems like a proper nice bloke, really personable and I bet the lads liked him. Thing is, the record he had as caretaker is not one to take at face value, as a) it wasn't amazing and b) plenty of other caretakers do a similar thing, look at Millen. Fact is, he's the assistant manager, he has the second most influence in the dressing room, and he has to take a hit of the criticism. I find it bizarre how so much is aimed towards LJ and so little towards Pembo, he has to take the flack too I'm afraid. I'm not gutted that he's gone from a performance perspective.
my sentiments exactly, Peeps say LJ kept us up, well I reckon a good deal of that was JP... really sorry to see him gone but Millen is not that bad!

We seemed to be doing perfectly well until LJ brought in the other 'assistant manager' his record was good until then?? He would have been following what the manager tells him and trying his best to support him in that! I will bet that he has walked of his own accord, because he is fed up of watching a clueless manager piss away what the rest of the club have fought so hard to achieve. Thats my perception of it.. but I admit, I dont really know. What I do know is Redprintt was right (how I hate to say that! ) the fans are now against each other more than ever before, the atmosphere is becoming toxic and we continue to sleepwalk to a relegation. BTW I still think RP was a little premature in his declaration of undying love for LJ.. but his missus says he has always been a little premature anyway..
