I dont have an issue with him making a genuine mistake and had he awarded a yellow card to the offending player although, I still would have called him all the names under the sun but at least (in his eyes) he made a decision that he thought was correct. But neither he, his linesman or the 4th official could say who handled it and therefore he plainly wasn't sure. Handball is a yellow card offence. Handball in the box is a yellow card and penalty.
Anthony Taylor earns £65k pa minimum not guess but to apply the rules of the game.

 

I thought it was Sam Vokes and Mawson, it was an appalling decision and as such we got away with one. I wonder if he will have a game this weekend.

 

Rightly or wrongly, Anthony Taylor has "history" with the Swans.

Rob Green should have been sent off for deliberately handling outside if the area, then later in the same match he sends off Routledge after Routs had been the victim of a vicious tackle - incompetence or is he biased?

 

I've seen what Llorente did for his winning goal done a zillion times and hardly ever called , the hand ball called against us without CLEARLY seeing what happens is rarely called . ... coupled with what happened at 1-1 against Chelsea last game when the ref was probably the only person not to see the penalty clearly shows perameters of the problem . We take a 2 - 1 on Chelsea and who knows what happens .

You lot are harsh, very harsh. I have a mate who refs at a local level and even at that pace it's difficult sometimes. If you want perfection then you have to agree to having video challenges or robots who never make mistakes. I suspect the former will come before the latter.

We all know how difficult a job it is, we're told that on MOTD every week after a ref makes yet another mistake. The problem is endemic in the game and stems from their lack of training, imo.

Its no wonder that we see so many inept referees when, for example, all the training they get on positioning at dead ball situations is a 90min session on where to stand so they don't get in the way, this from my Cousins son (is he my second cousin?) who is a WFA referee and recently ran the line in Macedonia vs Spain, definitely a pot noodle moment.
