Know that there is kinda a thread already but people started talking about how crap Scottish football is or something and I am really exited about this - looks like Robbie Keane might be on his way here according to the Mirror and 4th Official http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/tra...romotion-to-Premier-League-article784149.html @Fourth_Official Robbie Keane should wrap up a move to #LCFC in the next week, Maynard is a no go for the Foxes Is 31 but still Premiership quality - will destroy this devision. Only stopping point will be if he still wants premiership wages like the Yak but I will keep my fingers crossed that he isn't such a money hungry twat!
I would def settle for keane, he is a proven striker thats for sure. Maynard is unproven, and def overpriced. Absolutely def don't want either of the Everton strikers mentioned, one is bone idle, and the other is just crap. Having said all that tho, i for one, am getting pretty fed up with being linked with anybody and everybody, who is now, or has ever been, a striker, and ending up with nothing. Its dragged on for far too long now, and i just feel that unless Sven manages to pull a rabbit out of the hat, were gonna end up with some 2nd rate nobody or hasbeen, that nobody else wants. ITS GETTING VERY VERY VERY FRUSTRATING NOW!!!!!!!!!!
'It has been reported that we could be paying him £80K/week! Absolutely insane! ' No, he is on £80,000 a week at the minute. If it has been reported that we will pay this it is the most laziest piece of journalism I would have seen.
Fulham Fan in peace (living in Leicester) i went to a few games last season and Yak was lazy in most of them, i would want anchibe either, now keane is another thing he can score in the EPL so i think he will do well in Championship
A few years ago except the big 4 every team in the prem would have loved a front 2 of Robbie Keane and Yakubu
Gotta be Keane! Total games is 656 and scored 260 goals (goal ratio of 2.52) Yak: Total games is 268 and scored 135. Total transfer is £77Million on Keane and £22.75Million on Yak. Robbie is an out an out proven goal scorer at club, european and country level. He is a hard worker and will give 110%. I dont think i can say the same about the Yak.
Yaks scoring record is better then, 135 in 268 is a goal every 1.95 games and last season his ratio was a goal every 1.81 games for us so i'd be happy with either the Yak or Keane, both of them are goal scorers, just one works harder than the other and arguably suits our style better!!
You just get the impression that the Yak's main motivation is money whereas for Robbie its the love of playing the game! Hence the large number of appearances! I would rather have the latter in my team i think. Also if you take the Yaks hatrick out of last years stats then his scoring ration doesnt look as peachy
Not sure we can determine whether Keane is motivated by money or not, he hasn't signed for us yet and we don't know that the Yak didn't come because of money, it might just have been that he wanted to play in the Prem and Everton have said he's in their plans. If you take out his hat-trick (though I don't know why you would?) his ratio with us becomes 1 in 2.5 which still works out better than Keanes!!
I'm concerned that he is, and also you can be the best finisher in the world but if no one creates chances for you you won't score. We wil have to play a good attacking style of football to get the best out of Keane, I still think we're short a winger.
