Betfair showing at 13.0 for bits in spite of the bookies moving him to roughly 5/1....

Screams smoke and mirrors by those naughty bookie chappies but we will see soon enough. I've taken the 13.0 just on the off chance.

It's either the bookies playing 'games' or, given the latest weather forecast, there is a strong chance that the ground will be at its softest on the Tuesday. the forecast suggests that it will be dry after next Sunday which means the ground will get quicker through the week.

You can still get 11.0 on Betfair Ward for about £100. :emoticon-0148-yes:

if he runs in the Supreme he definitely starts shorter so it's a fair back to lay opportunity.

I was thinking about this the other night and am interested in your views. My strategy these days is small stakes on outsiders I'll do a double or treble on short priced faves, but the big money is to be made doing combination forecasts. Over the years I tend to get a lot of seconds beaten by the fave so I do this bet. When the fave wins you get a return and when your selection wins the rewards can be massive especially at the festival with big fields, it's a fun bet with with a small outlay.

Does your combination forecast consist of the favourite and your selection? So your saying if your selections wins and the favourite is second you get a decent return? Curious as i like a bet with a decent priced selection.

You pick 3 horses one the fave and 2 others , of the three two have two finish first and second. It's six bets for a quid or you can do it for ten Bob so three quid. Ideally you want the biggest price horse to beat the fave.we have had combos pay out a monkey and on occasion a grand for a six quid outlay.the best time to do this bet is in the big field handicaps

Im taking the races where there are two that I think will be very hard to beat and putting them in a treble acca. Provided one from each race wins it will guarantee a nice profit.

    Mares - VVM/Apples Jade
    Ryanair - UDS/Empire of Dirt
    Mares Novice Airlie Beach/Lets Dance

    Trebles outlay 8 pts

Three shortest priced winners = 2/1
Three longest priced winners = 8/1
