I'm about 10 years behind you. The first one I can properly remember watching was the 1974 FA Cup team.

To be fair to them, they did take the ball with them when they were running around. We've had quite a few sides since then who just ran around - and even some who didn't even do much of that!!

Boumsong and Bramble, so bad it was scary

The whole team under Shearer's short tenure too; the manner of defeat at Villa Park I'll never forget, they just didn't look arsed

    Heartbreaking stuff

I remember that side very well, particularly Jim Iley's winner against Bolton to clinch promotion to the 1st Division.
    Happy days :)

Albert Luque is right up there - what a gutless **** he was/is.

    Cacapa - just phenomenally ****.

And yes, Mark Stimson - played like they'd grabbed someone off the street because they were a man short.

No, it's just footballers being mentioned albeit bad ones.

On the understanding that Patrice Muamba was technically dead for 77 minutes, does that make Stephane Guivar'ch technically immortal?

I can't believe this thread has got to 2 pages long and no one has mentioned Wayne Fereday, literally the worst footballer I have EVER seen!

Strangely, i was talking generally with my Old Man a few days ago and he was mentioned by my Old Man as being in the 5 worst players he'd ever seen at Newcastle.

Again not for the young 'uns, Keith Kettleborough got a mention as well. A wannabe Jim Iley. Also mentioned were Frankie Clark and, at least for my Old Man, John Beresford.

I'd have more people would be mentioning him tbh, he played fairly recently (88-89 if I remember rightly) and he was just phenomenally bad. Jim Smith worked a miracle and swapped him for Gavin Peacock with Bournemouth.

I just noticed Gary Brazil is now managing Forest, as a player he was a useless **** for us. We had some proper dross around that time - Mark Stimpson, Roy Aitken, Brazil, Fereday etc.

Has anyone mentioned Christian Bassedas yet? Utter rubbish. And the useless prick of a striker we signed at the same time, Cordone.

And for a keeper Dave Bessant was an absolute clown for us.

I think Cordone scored in his first game for us and a day or so later I settled my fantasy football team for that season and included him as one of my " surprise" players. Didn't realise, at the time, that the surprise was going to be the fact that he scored in that game and only once more (I think) for the rest of the season.

Fereday played an absolute second half in our 5-5 draw against QPR and we signed him on the strength of that half and you're right he did nada in his entire time with us.

Keith Kettleborough was absolutely useless, however I disagree about Frank Clark. I think me and Cloughie were the only two blokes on the planet that rated him....<laugh>

Tony Cunningham, now he was sh!te.

A couple of mentions of Beresford are a surprise. I remember him being fairly decent. Certainly better going forward than defending but that was Keegan's style of play so he fit the team well.

Ah...George Riley, he was about 6 foot 4 inches tall and could jump about 6 foot 5 if memory serves me well.
