I thought he did well yesterday considering it was his first game in a couple of weeks, I winced when he was down on 2 occasions, I thought he was injured at one point, There was a moment in the first half he went into a 50-50 with a Bournemouth player but he came out unscathed and got the ball as well.
He was always bought for potential...not sure he's got enough potential to be a Utd player. Cut your losses and let the kid go and play some football.
Credit to the lad for fighting back from his injury, but he just seems too indecisive and was guilty of stalling with the ball in the final third on several occasions yesterday instead of bombing on to the line and putting in a cross - or putting Martial through. Whether that is a lack of minutes on the pitch or a sign of a permanent deficiency in his play - I doubt we will find out as I can't see JM giving him more game time than Rojo or Blind. Rojo was only shoved into CM yesterday because Bailly was out and once he returns I honestly can't see a place for Shaw
If it hadn't been for the injury 18 months ago, who knows. He looked superb at the start of last season and had he come back and continued with that form, I'd be very happy. Which kind of makes me want to give him the benefit of the doubt. If we are to replace him, who??? Darmian was never as good on the left and imo is also a goner in the summer. Fonsu-Mensah who I thought impressed on his few appearances last season iirc. Or as looking likely, Mourinho to bring someone else in?
