Thats only cos that lad ronnie delia smith was absolute dog **** in comparison. I could manage celtic.
The most uncompetitive football league in the world. The gap between Celtic and the second team is bigger than the gaps of England, Spain, France, Germany, and Italy combined. Celtic is an average team. It is just that the others are so desperately and miserably poor.
plus relatively speaking he seems to have is equivalent of a suarez in dembele up there. Now that doesn't mean he's all that, just that suarez was head and shoulders above prem and clearly dembele is far too good to stay up there long. I saw 2 goals there v caledonian thistle and frankly it was like watching a game between u18s v u12s. It was SO easy I could have scored the two goals he got. the first was an inderdible flog and the second he had an hour to chip it over the keeper he was so badly marked.
There is no competition Jimmy, the BBC had an article a month or so back comparing this squad to the Lisbon Lions Laughable
I think everyone is in agreement here that looking back fondly and brendan rogers is about the silliest thing anyone has done on not606 since people defended mario ****atelli on here.
Yes we're better. We still have major faults but we are fundamentally better. We're in a slump at the moment, one we're having a hard time climbing out of, but we are a better team. Add Suarez to THIS team and we would WIN the league.
I'm happy for him. He's seems a likable chap, I'm glad he's found success. I don't think he's Liverpool level yet though. Who knows maybe he's learning something being with a new team. New experiences and such.
Danny Murphy said yesterday that under Rodgers Liverpool came with 1 game and probably 1 slip, of winning the league under Rodgers, and at the minute he thinks you're 5 or even 10 years away from it. Not my words, so put down the pitchforks
The tactics he emplyed against Chelsea and Crystal Palace threw spanners in his work in the year he should have made history by winning the league with Liverpool.
12 months before that slip if you asked anyone (besides Astro) they would say we were never further from a title winning team. Things change quickly. Leicester? Nothing-Champions-Nothing. I'm not saying we're going to win the league next year (although obviously next year is our year) but I don't think we're that far off. If we had bought the right striker and left back in the summer (Milner would make a great holding midfielder) we could be a LOT more competitive this year. We didn't though.
