The Leicester City "spiral" watch!

Discussion in 'The Premier League' started by Hoddle is a god, Jan 17, 2016.

  1. The LCFC owners are about to pull off the greatest wum masterstroke in the history of the football league, a news item that would be a fitting tribute to this prescient thread. Relegation would be the only place lower for LCFC to sink down to.

At least, that's what the old HIAG would say. Not the new HIAG, though. Whilst I cannot pretend that I will cry any tears, should Hodgson be appointed, neither will I laugh.

My heartfelt feelings go out to Foxes everywhere.

Won the league and reached last 16 of CL. They are pretty happy

Leicester did so well. For them to throw it all away on Roy would be a nightmare for the club.

You can hear the owner and his son...

Dad I think Claudio has had his day, despite winning the league I reckon he's a bag of **** really

Ok son, but before we take him out the back and stick one in his noggin, we need to think about a replacement

Already done it Dad, I've been on with Woy Hodgson.

Are you back on the crack son?

This is fairly mild by your standards, I'm actually a bit disappointed.

  7. I'm wondering if there is anyone else who would want the job?

  8. We all are, CFC.

None would be more distraught then I, should Leicester get relegated.

The old HIAG may have had his run-ins with our little Foxes, on this board, but the new HIAG is a different animal. My shoulder will always be available for any Fox to cry on.

    I'm sure it's a very pretty prospect.

Don't do well and you've got the built in excuse that the club was in rapid decline when you signed up.

This with most of a title winning squad still at your disposal. Stay up and finish in top half of the season next year and you're a hero for stabilizing the problem. A decent manager should be able to achieve that.

  10. You used the phrase "any decent manager..."

What decent manager would want to take the job? Any decent manager will already be in employment, presumably do a good job for his current club.

I can think of two reasons why a decent manager wouldn't want to take the job:

    1. some of the distaste in how the club got rid of Ranieri will rub off on the new manager's reputation; and
    2. I doubt that any decent manager would want to have "relegation" on his CV.

Why would you though ? You have said that Hodgson is as good as Diego Simeone

...I think this demonstrates your total naivety on footballing matters ... any new manager won't give a flying about how Ranieri was treated ... they will simply be interested in the contract and how much they will be given to spend ... simples.

Now I love Claudio Ranieri and what he achieved for my club ...and I'm sad about how it ended ..but Claudio walks away with all the awards he won, joins an exclusive list of EPL title winning managers (something that Pooch and Kloppety may never achieve) and with a rumoured £3 million pay off
...there will be no shortage of potential suitors looking for something similar ...and that's reality my friend.... :)

I have echoed this sentiment on another thread. However, given that HIAG has spent 6 years having his arse handed to him, I feel we should be tolerant of his ignorance whilst he attempts to engage in some proper football debate. It's the decent thing to do.

As for Ranieri, apparently he gave half of his £3m payout to a Foxes charity (LCFC, not the furry type) Top class from a man who had just had his world pulled out from under him <ok>

Apparently that was just a rumour started by one of the bookies that he made the donation and the club confirmed it wasn't true. He is a clas man and I would have been staggered if he had done that but the reality seems it was just another external party trying to stir up more ill feeling towards the club

  16. So, other sacked managers, you mean?

Surely, the Foxes want a decent manager, not one who was made unemployed because of incompetence?

Mourinho was unemployed before he went to United. This may come as a shock to you but not all out of work or sacked (worded so you can grasp the gist ) are bad managers. Many don't gel at a club i.e. Ramos & AVB (Tea Boy).
