Just flicked through the listings for this weekend, no early kick off saturday & our late kick off's not being shown either. Is it on ESPN or something? Seems strange not to have a live game first day of the season.

BT gave ESPN to me for free when I said I was looking at moving to Sky or Virgin.

I've just been looking into it, apparantly Sky do the same. If you say your thinking of leaving because you can get the sports channels cheaper elsewhere they'll give it you free for 3 to 6 months. Will keep you updated

They all do it, I told Virgin I was going back to sky and they gave me £16 a month loyalty discount for life. Meaning the SkySport package is only costing me £6.50 a month and I get ESPN for free from them!!!

I don't have ESPN, but work does so I'll have to watch it there. And get paid for it. It's a hard life.

I'd much rather be at the match mind.

I failed :emoticon-0101-sadsm, they wanted £21 a month on top of what i already pay to add the sports package, they said ESPN is free for the first 3 months but then i have to start paying for that aswell. I told them i'm going to ring virgin and if they can do it cheaper i'll leave, hoping they'd knock it down abit, but alas...they did not.

Thats strange. I would ring back again and hope you get through to someone different. Its worth a try!!! My mate phoned up during the week and they gave him Skysports and ESPN for £20 a month as he said thats exactly what Virgin offered him!!

Will do, a few people i work with have said to ring up and say your leaving, then they'll put you through to this department which offers you loads of discount etc in a hope you'll stay. So i'll give that a crack when i get home later.

I'm with Sky, and have ESPN, and am currently paying around about £85 a month. Told them last week I was thinking of leaving as I only have Sky for the sport and Newcastle are only about 4 times live. They offered to knock the price down to £55 a month. They would also give me free Sky internet, costing only £7.50 a month for the next year (line rental), instead of my current internet deal. But when you phone up, make sure you follow the links to the "I'm thinking of leaving" section.

I had a debate with the wife about getting ESPN and it went a bit like this.

"Love, I'm getting ESPN for £10.00 a month"

    wife "NO YOUR FU**ING NOT"

"Right, well I am going to the pub to watch it with the lads give as £50 quid as I aint gonna be back till about 2 in the morning and will do this every weekend for the footy"

wife looks at me and is obviously doing the math! "OK get your fu**ing ESPN you little bast*rd"

"Thanks love I knew you would understand, the lads are coming around to watch the match"

wife "NO THEY FU**ING ARE NOT"

"OK well I am going to the pub to watch the match, I will need the £50 quid and I have just ordered ESPN so I cannot cancel that"

wife "OK your mates can come around"

"Cool, I will need the £50 quid for the beer an.....

    SLAP

"Ok love your right I went to far"
