We're home so hopefully we go more attacking shape wise than at Bristol City. That said, that got us a good result. I have a feeling we may do better on our travels than at home this season.... the team we have is much better suited to picking up results away than dictating home games in my opinion. Anyway, here goes ! Stockdale Edwards / Delaney / Kennedy / Cresswell Carson / Bowyer / Leadbitter / Martin JET Chopra This is if Delaney's fit. The reason for Kennedy at CB is the fact Smith is in my eyes useless at best, and Ainsley may be too much of a risk to start. Also, I think we'd need to go about the game more attacking wise than we did at Bristol City. JET says his best position is just off the striker, seems to me logical to give this a go. Carson was lively off the bench and I feel the lad should be in the side ideally. Subs A.L.Barrett Ainsley ( perhaps too much of a risk to start however sub wise can cover a lot more than Smith across the back four ) Healy Drury Priskin I'd leave Scotland out as I'm sure his times up. Also, apparently Ellington was bad v Northampton so lets not put him on the bench ahead of Priskin for the sake of it. Lets give Tamas another shot from the bench.
This may change selection for Saturday.... http://www.twtd.co.uk/news.php?storyid=18965&title=andrews_signing_sets_up_leadbitter_exit_to_pompey I think JET should play in that role between midfield & striker, he was very effective tuesday night when more central, I think Smith will be in the squad on Saturday. Will be happy to avoid defeat on saturday as we do look Vulnerable in defence, on paper at least.
As with your team Westlake but would put Ainsley in with Delaney based on his first half performance against Northampton and in a ropey formation.
I think it will be:- Stockdale Edwards Ainsley Delaney Cresswell Kennedy Bowyer Andrews Martin JET Chopra Kennedy will play in front of the back 4 to give them protection!!
I agree with Spanish that its probably our best line up....but you have to wonder if its 4-5-1 then we have pace on the flanks if they push forward, if its 4-3-3 then there is no pace or creativity as Kennedy will be protection. Bowyer,Kennedy and Andrews all over 30 - hope they've had a good nights sleep.......
Me too this looks like the best option we have for this game. I think Delaney should pass fit. I guess with Healy and Drury on the bench we can always inject them (subject of course to injuries) if the 30 somethings legs start to go a bit! Cant wait!
I'm sure I read somewhere that Andrews had played at CB before, probably not his favoured position and not an ideal debut but it may be a better option than Smith or Ainsley if we don't sign another CB in time.
Its 1-4 for a copy come on and 1-9 for a rig check So i hit the gate doing 98 and said let them truckers roll 10-4.
