MM also banged on about money in his post-match interview ie 20,000 here and free transfers there against a team 'worth' £50 million (Much of which has been wasted IMO), however our goal-scorer was a 'freebie'. Maybe both clubs should be investing more in home grown talent
I don't think Tettey's attempt was that great. Yes he hit it really hard, but straight at the keeper. A less powerful shot aimed anywhere else would have almost certainly resulted in a goal. In some respect Tettey's failed attempt on goal was just as bad a missed opportunity as some of Jerome's.
The difference being, Carrow, it is Jeromes job to score goals and Tettys job to stop goal scoring opportunities. Basically Jerome was woeful on Sunday.
Well Tettey's hardly been great at stopping goal scoring oppotrunities this season has he. Anyway I don't believe that it's only the strikers job to score goals, everyone should be able to score. Jerome plays a a lone striker, he thrives on quick counter attacking football. To get the best out of him we need to get the ball forward much quicker when counter attacking, unfortunately Tettey is one of the main reasons why we can't / don't do this.
Agree about Tettey, we seem to lack attacking edge whens hes in the team, is it a conicidence? Cant agree with CJ yes he puts in a shift but when hes our only striker on the field he needs to be taking them easy chances, at least testing the keeper. He misses far to many easy chances and imo he should not be played up front alone.
His workrate for the team is incredible at times, but his actual conversion rate is actually pretty abysmal. I thnk he often snatches at shots and I remember the one in the first half on Sunday, when he received a reasonable pass from Hoolahan I think it was a skewed it several feet wide of the goal. His header in the 2nd half was pretty tame and easy for their keeper to deal with. The trouble is that AN doesn't like playing 2 strikers, but I feel Pritchard offers more than Naismith in that respect and Hoolahan wants to try and score the perfect goal.
Completely agree.. But if he had more composure he would be playing considerably higher than the championship. He may not be universally liked/appreciated by 'football fans' but his work ethic and determination always make him a real handful and if you were to add in goals he'd be a helluva player.
His workrate on Sunday was fantastic and as you say, if he could convert opportunities into at least testing the keeper/goals, then he would be playing in the PL!!!!
