Well in Stick, had an e/w bet on the Daly steed so got a bit of profit. One of these days I'll do you in one of these bumpers!!! But until then....I think I'll just follow your selections in them. Uncanny knack of getting it right, time after time fella. Would love to see a profit/loos calculation of your bumper selections over the last 5 or so years. Would have the bookies running for cover....go get em boy!!!
Regular readers must be pretty skint tonight. Amazed you didn't put up RIVER WYLDE as he has been extolling this ones virtues for some time now.
I say, Stick, calm down my old love. No need for silliness on the forum. Although I must admit the regular readers were dining at the ‘Foodbank’ on Saturday eve. I’m sure if you said on Saturday morn that both Charli Parcs and Champ would get beat you would have been sectioned PDQ but that I’m afraid was the reality. Although, clutching at straws, you could say that Champ was the ‘moral’ victor in that he gave the winner 9 lbs and was beaten just 2.25 lengths. Will they both bounce back??? Time will tell, I guess. Staying with the bumpers I see that Mr Henderson has committed Daphne Du Clos, what a lovely name for a filly by the way, to the ‘Festival Bumper’. The old boy loathes the race and only ever runs one in it if (i) he thinks that is as good as they are (i.e. has no scope) or (ii) is commanded too by the owner. I wonder which scenario fits with Daphne. He has said though that the old girl is ‘different’ and being a 4YO filly she will be receiving all the allowances and therefore a stack of weight from her rivals. Will she oblige for the great man??? Re the Dovecote I was quite surprised by the bookie chappies reaction after it and the one to take out of it for the Supreme could be the runner- up, Elgin. Can’t understand why he is 50/1 and the other main protagonists shorter - River Wylde (16’s) and Peter the Mayo Man (33/1). Especially when you consider that Elgin gave them both 3 lbs and would have been a fair bit closer to the winner had he not fluffed the last.
