3-1 and yet we've played well. Shows the quality Chelsea have. They've been ruthless when we've made mistakes. The frustrating thing is that all of the goals could have been avoided on another day.
Mistakes by Carroll and Fab cost us against the crème de la crème of the Premier . Bit of harsh posting on here about players so ... I'll leave you to it .
Chelsea have the best home record in the premiership so I'm not disappointed at all with their performance to give Chelsea a good game who has a bit more quality that has seen them go 11 points ahead and probably guaranteed them as the champions.....Our next 4 games will seal our fate and I don't think we have much to be worried about if we play like we are....COYS
Oh well, lots of positives to take from that. Carroll needs a rocket up his arse for todays cock ups, but, Rangel must start all of the next 4 games for me. Fer needs dropping, Gylfi put in the middle and Narsingh on the wing next week too. Happy with the overall performance today.
It's frustrating, because players just doing the basics right in each of those Chelsea goals, could have seen a favourable result. But we knew Naughton is awful, Routledge should not be on the pitch in my view & Fer flits in and out. Carroll needs to keep it simple & I feel we could have been a little braver 2nd half. Maybe Ayew could have come on earlier & given them something to think about. Again with Narsingh, I mean Wayne was anonymous throughout, so why not. Shame but there you go, Burnley up next.
Am I happy with today's performance? There were elements where I was, and elements where I wasn't. Did Naughton have another stinker? Yes. Did Fer and Carroll drop their levels? Yes. BUT - we were away to the champions elect who were, in my opinion, clearly the best team we've played this season. Much much better than when they came to the Liberty. They passed and moved like no other team - swift, quick, accurate play and midfield pressing like nothing I've seen. Our guys had no time on the ball. They never dropped their level all game and wore us down. With that in mind, I'm going to be realistic about this. I don't believe Paul Clement should be changing anything to the starting line-up for the next game. We got into this mess through constant tinkering of our first-11. Paul Clement has come in and added some stability which has been working, especially against teams that we should be competing with. So I'm going to say that we need to realise that we just lost to Chelsea and they were better than us in all departments today - let's put the winning formula back out there for Burnley. Every other formula we've tried this season has been a losing one, so changing the line-up is the biggest risk we can take in my opinion.
Agree with BK, no need to panic. Chelsea are a classy outfit and we did well in parts. They deserved the win. Some winnable fixtures coming up for us and we have to really go for it.
Not an unexpected loss and some good play from us getting a goal against the in form probable champs also ripped off by a nailed on pen showed we were having a go ! Pity we still don't have a full 90 mins in us yet but if we get to the summer safely we can build a really good squad again if we bin the crap and keep the tidy lads. 60%
Give the team a break FFS.Stop slagging players off, please. We are relegation candidates and they are going to be champions. See the difference? Now for the next game.
