Time will tell if this is BS.. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...ker-Robbie-Keane-set-join-Leicester-City.html
If he signs it will definitely not be in the next 48 hours. He will hold out for Premiership interest for some time yet. If we get him we still need a winger to help create chances for him, he wouldn't have made anymore than Nugent did out of the service he was getting last week.
If the last week has tought you anything. Dont believe the Daily Mail. According to them we signed Matt Derbyshire the other day and thats forget their pathetic match report last week
Yeah, Proud's right. The Mail's recent history with us is very poor. First the Holt thing, then Derbyshire and then Bamba. Presuming it is true, £3 million would be a decent price for a proven goalscorer. The other thing that does add credibility to this is that most other papers are running this story as well. Be happy if we signed him (would still prefer Maynard mind).
The trouble is, no PL clubs want him. Blackburn were the only ones who were rumored and we outbid them. Also, it's out of Keane's hands as Spurs will look to sell ASAP to raise money for a new striker and they'd also rather sell to a Championship club than a PL club. Also, I think the reason Sven wanted a new striker was to add a bit of X Factor to the side - someone who will create something out of nothing and Keane will do that. Nugent is a workhorse who is capable of converting chances he is given but Keane can create chances for himself which is the difference.
sven has said that he does not expect a new striker here until at least net week so this is most probs BS
Not necessarily. There might have been an unexpected twist and the deal can go through quicker. Also, very little happens on week-ends so unless it happens today (which I doubt) then it'll probably happen next week anyway.
If Keane does sign I cant see it being in the next 10 days as he has said he wants Prem football but hasnt ruled out the championship. He will wait to last minute giving himself as much chance as possible of signing for a prem team
Good striker, i think the stupid pundits on tele just go on about how much weve spent and we are favs but little do they know we are close to bad upfront. We want 2 goals a game, gona be difficult without new signing, go schlupp
