If it was the Daily Star computer prediction thingy the latest model had us finishing 16th with Burton, Bristol and Rotherham (obvs lolz etc) going down. Personally make Wigan in real trouble now. Next 5 games make or break for them.
A great result lads! I earnestly listened to the QPR Player commentary and pretended to watch City v Monaco on TV. I admit that I did not see much of the TV match. Well done QPR! Well done Ollie! COYR's!!! Have a great evening!
Just saw our goals from sky sport. Both goals extramely well taken. Washington has been a late bloomer in every club he has been. Now he is used properly with smith or sylla. 10 points clear now. Even we cant blew this....
Mmmm,so no Luongo and no Perch = 6 points from 6 ! I said that these 2 were costing us points,i don't mind them coming off the bench to do a job if need be. But if players are fit then neither should be starters, they're simply not good enough. I'm glad to see the penny's finally dropped and we're playing with more attacking verve and options. Hoping Conor's injury isn't too bad,Hall's was a head injury but didn't look too bad, although he'll probably miss the next game ! U rrrrr's.
Great result & match a bit scrappy at times, they looked decent in first & very quick front men especially Bogle but dropped off in 2nd half, just about deserved that win, nice to see strikers scoring in consecutive games.
....and for us overseas folks, live from Vietnam:- https://www.facebook.com/QPRVietnam/ Chiến thắng thứ 2 liên tiếp của thầy trò Ollie. Đội khách đã chơi tốt và tạo được nhiều cơ hội nhưng Smithies bằng sự ổn định của mình đã bảo toàn chiến thắng cho đội nhà. #COYRS Win second consecutive of difficult teacher Ollie. Team visitors have good games and create a lot of opportunities but Smithies with the stability of I told the victory for team. # COYRS
From the highlights it seems like Hall hurt himself when making a sliding challenge, not sure it's a head injury. If Manning's effort had just been a couple of yards either side we would be singing his praises (again) after what would have been a peach of a goal. Freeman looks a very decent piece of business, especially considering the price. How much did Smith cost? Anyone knows? According to Holloway it sounded like a low price. We've certainly got more value so far than what Villa have from the Hogan deal and the McCormack deal and so on and so on....
Think Smith was around a million pal,Freeman around 300,000. Manning cost us zip,as he's one of our own (sort of ),and Goss the young Man Utd player was 800,000. I'm looking forward to seeing him in the future !
Conor Washington inspired QPR to a 2-1 victory over relegation-threatened Wigan at Loftus Road. Washington set up an early opener for Matt Smith and restored Rangers' lead with a thumping strike after Omar Bogle had equalised from the penalty spot. The victory was QPR's second in three days and pulled them further clear of the bottom three. And Washington continues to impress under boss Ian Holloway, having netted just twice in 31 appearances under previous Rangers manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink. Struggling Wigan, meanwhile, remain in the relegation zone and have now failed to win in 16 visits to London. Rangers made the perfect start, going ahead after just four minutes courtesy of recent signing Smith's second goal in as many matches. Washington cleverly nudged Jake Buxton aside to collect Alex Smithies' long kick and laid the ball off to Smith, who scored from close range. Ryan Manning then had a shot tipped over by Wigan goalkeeper Matt Gilks and QPR appeared to be in control before a mistake by Luke Freeman on 16 minutes proved costly. Freeman, not helped by Jake Bidwell's positioning, misplaced an attempted pass to the left-back, enabling Max Power to find Bogle, who was brought down by Joel Lynch. Bogle kept his composure after a delay because of an injury to home defender Grant Hall, sending Smithies the wrong way from the spot for his third goal since his recent arrival from Grimsby. Both sides had created openings with the score at 1-1. Bogle saw a goal-bound shot blocked by Nedum Onuoha and the lively Freeman fired wide, before Bogle again got into a shooting position inside the box and was this time closed down by Manning. And Smithies produced a superb save to push away Buxton's header from Jamie Hanson's right-wing corner a couple of minutes before half-time. please log in to view this image Grant Hall of QPR beats Will Grigg of Wigan to the ball Smithies was called into action twice more in the early in the second half, denying Bogle and then keeping out Buxton's far-post header, before Washington netted the winner - the striker's fourth goal in six games. Washington struck just before the hour mark, firing into the bottom corner from near the edge of the penalty area after being teed up by substitute Kazenga LuaLua.
