But selling Nolan was a smart move and anyone who disagrees simply doesnt know their football, hes on a massive decline physically and wouldnt last another couple seasons at this level, so why should we play a declining footballer ahead of younger and superior players who can still develop, such as caybe, vuckic etc

Nolan offered nothing to the team except some goals and some leadership, his tackling and passing was poor and arguably cost us as many points as he earned us with his goals.

He wanted a 5 year deal and i suspect he may not even have that great of a season with west ham in the champo.

Agreed. He wouldnt have been the same "inspirational captain" sat on the bench next season either anyway.

I love a good moan and I'm not going to live my life behind rose tinted glasses like most of the arseholes on this board.

    I agree

  5. I still think he could have played a part next season, if not in the strongest team, he could have scored some goals running at tired legs. He could have been decent cover also.

But hes not worth a 5 year deal so...

I agree about Nolan but both the others have let us down.

Carroll a new deal and claimed he wanted to stay for life and wear #9 then moved to Liverpool for an extra £30K a week.
Jose was going to go, but claimed he wanted European football, basically offered himself up to the top 4-5 teams, none them wanted him so he went to Liverpool because they offered him more money. We sold him to get some money now instead of lose him next year for nothing.

You've certainly changed your tune, I remember you saying the exact opposite just after we had sold him.

Nolan with fresh legs is like a normal mid fielder after 75 mins anyway. His game was poaching. We won't be set up for that next season.

Sad to see them all go however.
    1. Nolan was getting on a bit and wouldn't necessarily be a first team player this year.
    2. Carroll was a good price and can help balance the books or invest the money in the club hopefully on new signings over the next 20 days.
    3. Enrique wasn't signing a contract and at least we'll get a transfer fee for him.

Oh and one big positive Xisco has finally [NSFW]****ed off[/NSFW] <party>

Sort of agree, but I think we'll miss his influence
