He had him far closer to the action this year. Was almost tailed off last year before winning as I recall.
There's a hilarious reference to Big Bill Werbenick here by Dennis Taylor- one of my fav snooker TV moments:
Someday 100/30 - Leopardstown 5:00 form of his debut appears the strongest form by a fair way to me and I'm hoping Kate Harrington can for once deliver on a horse I'm on with her riding.
Chucked a fiver at Sir Egbert in the bumper at Exeter at 6/1 - out of an Alflora mare and would have won on debut but for greenness. Potentially smart recruit on soft ground.
Kevin Blake with another ingenious bit of commentating..."very much a jump horse in the making" speaking of Willie Mullins bumper favourite. I thought he would run this bumper then go for something like the King's Stand at Ascot!
Its magic you know, never believe it's not so. Great finish, thought I was done for with the Mullins fave coming but Someday battled on well and hanging into the 2nd helped too
Had me a speculative for Chelts on the back of todays action: Supreme: Charlie Parcs Mares: Limini Ryanair: Sizing John Mares Novice: Airlie Beach Triumph: Merie Devie I really expect todays Triumph form to be turned on its head, barring heavy rain in March.
I'm sure Sizing John will go Gold Cup (since the Potts' expensive French recruit Alary flopped again today) leaving the way open for Sub Lieutenant in the Ryanair although feck me Uxizandre will go close if not bouncing. The Triumph goes to Mr McManus this year
Cheers oddy and all Not been of best sorts for a while i was going to go back to the blog but thought bugger it try with a pts plan out in the open. Regular u c has been poor its time i took a stand and pulled the good old cracker back. Lifes to short to overlook a passion half heartedly . Well done with the winners and good pointers all . You See
That's plausible. Thing is, I'd be keen he would have at least a fighting chance of a Ryanair win whereas I'm not sure he would make as much of an impact at GC trip tbh. Then again, the Potts' will do as they please with him no matter what we say.
Surprised no ones mentioned the one Festival banker we saw today, who didn't even win. That horse was of course the legendary ON THE FRINGE. Has done the near impossible Cheltenham, Aintree & Punchestown treble not once but twice, can't think of any horse who has managed that in fact??? He looked as good as ever today, tanking over Foxrock 99% of the way round before blowing up slightly as you'd expect, and not given a hard time either. Incredible how he's still as big as 11/4 for the Foxhunters. He was a certainty last year and he's every bit as big a one this year
Must say overall I wasn't hugely blown away by much, and the shorties getting beaten was of no huge surprise. A few cracking rides probably worth a shout out after Rachel Blackmore, Katie Walsh rode a very good ride in the bumper looking strong and tidy when she needed and of course young Patrick Mullins was superb on Bacardys in the Grade One, but Toppy has this one covered earlier I see...
