He made up he was on below 8k a week here. Then said Saints wouldn't offer him 15k a week. Also said we were messing him about with a contract. He then said he joined Liverpool on under 20k a week. This is all the stuff he said to his personal trainer (and friend) of 6yrs.
Dunno about any of that. Great player though, who in my opinion we miss more than anyone else on that pitch tonight barring Mane, who we never had a hope of keeping. If there was a way of keeping him, on wages we could afford to pay, I wish we had found it. If there wasn't, well, fair enough.
Unless he is unbelievably thick surely he knew nobody would believe that I also don't really see that as forcing his way out either
I didn't say he forced his way out. I am saying he made up a lot of bullshit, when he could have simply said " I want to join Liverpool". I agree him saying all that is weird, makes me wonder what other stuff he said.
Clyne orchestrated the move, he was sly but clever, but we've had many more do it worse. He's nowhere on the hate machine for me.
Proof that Liverpool are average without Mane. The media kept telling us 'Liverpool are missing Mane' Well wow-wee, transfer money aside, so were we until Gabbiadini came along, just in case everyone forgot. Up until we parted with the dosh for Manolo we were desperate for a classy striker. Practically every Saints supporter knew that one. To be honest, I'd like one more, and I don't think that's being greedy. Liverpool have become dangerous again because they have someone who has an end product. They aren't suddenly a fantastic team.
and now he's gone, won zero trophies whilst our current RB is a European Champion and about to win a domestic trophy. Love it!!! PS. Always liked Clyne and bare him no ill, apart from a few important defeats
Yeah I feel Clyne did nothing wrong, his contract was running out, he didn't want to sign a new one and we sold him so he didn't leave for nothing.
And in my opinion for a good price with one year left. I read too often that we under sold him. A RB.
Under sold him, probably not. But in terms of finding someone close to as good as him we haven't (and are unlikely to), I remember saying on here that, pound for pound, he was our best player and getting into a discussion about it with someone (may have been you actually now I think about it)
Can't remember that. I'd certainly agree at how good he was, but another case for me of not a lot else we could do. His head was turned and we got him to the last year of contract.
Sadie Mane is a special, special player. Gutted we lost him but we're lucky to have him for those 2 seasons.
Obviously he's a special player who will hurt you big time if you allow him space to run into. Liverpool are a good team but have struggled of late against lesser sides than Spurs, because teams have tactically sussed them out. Deny them space and you will get chances on the break and at set pieces with their fragile defence. So what does Pochettino do?? Plan A...Plan A!!! We shall play high...we'll give Mane and co. acres of space behind us to exploit and hurt us!!! MP is not a bad manager but is limited. I've said it before but our finish of 8th in his one full season with us was not great. With the players we had that season we could of finished higher than that, certainly could of had a go at the cups which he totally disregarded. On it's day his style of high press is effective but not sustainable over a whole season. As you probably notice I haven't got a lot of respect for Pochettino? Never forgave him for walking across pitch to tunnel after a brilliant 3-0 win at Fulham, totally ignored our away support where we had large numbers. Then to put Morgan and JRod (when he was on fire) on the bench the following Saturday. A cup tie against a poor Sunderland side which we lost. Rant over!! http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...e-England-hopefuls-send-Cottagers-bottom.html
