Following the thread of City's most underrated player it got me think of who the most overrated player was.

I'm still thinking about it but what does everybody else think?

Off the top of my head in more recent years I think Geovanni and Jelavic were a tad overrated.
I'm suprised with those two I thought they both did a great job for us my pick would be Daniel Cousin , when we signed him I remember a Rangers fan offering to drive him down to us if it ment offloading him he described him as a big game Charlie

Ben Arfa. Hard to call him overrated considering where he ended up but was a complete ****ing nobstick when playing for us.

Okocha, he was a class player in his day but apart from the odd nice pass or fancy trick he didn't contribute a lot on the pitch for us.

Ben Halfa or however you spell it. you can close the thread now.

He was hardly overrated, most City fans thought he was utter crap for us, that's the opposite of being overrated.

Now if we're talking about the most overhyped or biggest disappointment then he'd be right up there.

Cant agree. We knew we were getting an aged genius. Supposedly 35(?) but maybe even older.
In my 40+ years of supporting City, I feel privileged to have seen his cameos. Who can ever forget his first half vs Burnley, he mesmerised them. I believe we were two up and they had two sent off after 40 mins? Best half I've ever seen from anyone, whether city or not (though don't take much attention of anything non City). Mike Riley then decided to even thing up and JJ was sent off for the first time in his career (in what turned out to be his last game) to even the numbers up.

And many players involved at that time claimed seeing him in training inspired them. It is a season that will never ever be repeated in our history. Would we have achieved promotion without that influence? Who knows. If we didn't that year where would we be?
