Is close to taking over Super Kev as my favourite Safc player of all time. Photos like this just show how much of a top lad he is away from football and how much he has the club in his heart. This pic bought tears to my eyes.
Will just add something to this story, I had a delivery from the pharmacy about 15 mins ago and the lad was telling me that Defoe stayed like that for a good few hours. He had been playing and talking to the bairn, who then fell asleep and he didn't want to move so as not to disturb him.. Apparently it's on Facebook.. Top top bloke and a fcuking good heart too..
What's happened with the little man anyway? Is he getting the treatment he needed the funding for yet?
his folks decided to treat him, in order to prolong his life. they found out his cancer had spread so he couldn't undertake the life-saving treatment as planned. not sure how long the wee mans life can be prolonged for. hopefully it gives him some high quality moments, and outside of a hospital bed as much as possible.
Its very touching, I'd like to add, it wasn't just JD who visited this young lad, a few other players were also there.
I think he is showing the human side of a living legend - my nephew, a Tottenham fan, rated him highly for his off field community involvement while at Tottenham.
A class act on and off the pitch. I hope he wins the golden boot this year. It's very possible and would be a reward for the lad sticking with us and working hard. England had their chance, as usually the media picks the team.
He has shown some of us the way. non drinker , christian, how he has looked after that bairn , magnificent support, What an Icon.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/38926406 BBC covered it above.. sad story this, kudos to the lads that makes what's left of his dreams come true.. heartbreaking this..
QPR fan in peace. I saw this piece on the BBC website and have to say well done to S.A.F.C. and in particular the players that visited this kid. Football is not just about money and you guys have proved that. Well done and good luck for the rest of the season.
