    Bertram, the figure you quote makes perfect sense. Yes, they have taken in a good chunk of money, but they have high overheads. I ran the figures by my brother-in-law Arnold (a chartered accountant no less) and he confirmed that what you said was 'about right'.
    I should point out that Arnold is a relative, he is not a bear and therefore his analysis is purely based on objective data.
    He also said that the very fruits of Celtic's current fiduciary progress is deceptive. The more money they take in the greater the expectations of the Celtic supporters rise. They now expect (foolishly) that they will now be in the market for higher priced players who will also want commensurate wages. The paradox is that the greater their revenue, the greater their costs. It is the law of diminishing returns especially in the crazy world of modern day football.
    The bottom line is that economics is a social science not a hard science like physics with fixed, immutable laws which cannot change. As we know from our every day life experience, we make monetary decisions on emotion, sentiment and feeling. I suspect that the blessed Brendan will discover at some point down the road, that where he wants to be and where Liewwell wants the money to be are two very different things. That will be a sweet moment to enjoy.

    Heeyyyyyy Arnold is back.

    <rofl>

    I would say that is correct. On another note, what were you googling to find that headline?
