no he won't but its not him its what the perception of the mandarins and panickers in FSG that I'm saying handed him that contract and no doubt pay rise.

His prior jobs indicate a long stay in each case rather than the guardiola or mourinho short stays.

In many ways the guardiloa and mourinho model remind me of Us short termist managers on the corporate ladder who leave nothing behind them.. Klopp is not that.

As klopp said once.. he suits us like an arse on a bucket.. just cos he was referring to mkhitaryan doesn't mean it isn't a good analogy.

All I'm saying is whatever klopp might feel LFC clearly got spooked when some rumours about anchelotti floated and they threw contracts at him.

It was maybe about ensuring that he was being paid the going rate for a top PL manager rather than merely reacting to hearsay from one particular club mate.

he already was the day he first signed though.... he was on about 7 or 8 mil a year. the top earners were maybe 1 mil above it max when he arrived

now sure guardiola and mourinho have topped that now and gone well passed 10mil a year and might even be up to 15mil depending on who you read but klopp is not after getting that.

You cannot underestimate the reactionary way LFC is run and in my view they jumped months after europa finals etc to tie him down when he was signed will eend of 2018 with an option for another year. in short ther eis little long term view in FSG its all make do and get by.

    Ok didn't know that mate.

Playing devils advocate you could say that them tying him down for such a long period, not only showed great faith in him, but also their desire to create continuity at Anfield as opposed to an ever changing cycle of management and staff that you see at other clubs

You could say that yes but then they stuck the ****ebag michael edwards in at sporting director... Of course klopp says sure i can make him do what i want... why wouldn't he but it just shows the FSG apporahc. Just enough, investment must be gilt edged and make do aorund it.

Mark my words gordon will be named CEO shortly. No outside CEO will be appointed by FSG.

The ever changing cycle you mention is indeed one of the huge issues of English football but unfortunately.... you need to have competence and talent upstairs to deliver it. Wenger brought stability but at this point take him out and arsenal are a hollow shell that implodes... same as ferguson.

city have tried with the ex barca guys but they have failed to understand the country that have come to and so under perform. if they stay another 5 years they could build a dynasty. (not guardiloa, the begirisatin guy)

The sad reality of LFC is there's klopp.. and his coaches... and then theres a poor enough academy coaching structure lead by a guy far promoted up form where he was at with spurs.. and then theres ex city scouts who have systematically proved **** and then theres michael edwards... Klopp is the only thing that gives any LFC fan hope IMO. the rest are mediorce at best or at worst deluded excel jockeys.

I think Klopp is a bit disappointed with some things which people hyped up for him which hasn't turned to reality.

Lets be honest, if it isn't a big match then the crown is usually quiet which Klopp wasn't expecting. He's been told that its similar to Dortmund where its 90 mins of chanting. He's constantly asking for the crown to push our performances and we play team we expect to beat we will chant just the usual stuff and then moan when were not winning by 5 after 15 mins. When we do provide a great atmosphere he's the first one to come out and congratulate us and always wants more but we don't provide that for him.

yup. this is true. but then if he's team plays half decent for first 20mins the crowd are not quiet. the thing is a groove is settled into where the team play slow boring passing round the back and half the crowd fall asleep. :)

Last season i felt Palace fans to be the loudest or at least to continually chant all match and there football was never that entertaining.

Spurs is pretty consistent most of the time. Not many fans are great anymore.

thats cos they took pride in organising themselves in a singing group etc. When mancs tried this they were derided.

In my view you get "old School" the types that will sing but will also be offensive on a number of topics etc and then there's the jeune ecole who are families or plastics or out of towners or whatever insults people want to throw at them.

A lot of people in smaller clubs (or in away fan groups) sing more but go for the older type of stereotypical banter or trading insults when the go to a match.

then theres those who go oh my god whats going on I came to watch a match types

rememebr that lad leaving anfield at the wolves game with 3 young kids seeing lfc humiliated? thats not much singing for a lot of money paid. any less of a fan?

But the crowd starting the match with the standard YNWA which even then wasn't great. Listen to the following match V Chelsea to hear the level in passion of the starting chant.

If the crowd is up for every match and for the money they pay why should they sit there and expect it? If the players walk into a half asses stadium then the levels do drop.

I prefer aways for all of the above reasons.

At the aways you stand for 90 minutes and there's always someone getting a chant going. It usually starts on the concourse before the game or whichever pub we're drinking in. Going to Boro on Saturday and win, lose or draw I know it'll be a good afternoon due to the atmosphere and the banter

The Mrs is indeed coming with me on this one mate. Going on the train for a change as well, so we can both have a drink.

I never get lashed at aways, just enjoy a few pints beforehand.

Have to agree with this. Away games are so much better, I was watching my videos from Milan the other night and down the canal and on the metro before the game was absolutely fantastic.

Went to West Ham game at the weekend (my first PL game of the season) and the atmosphere was appalling. It's same up and down the country bar big games, eg. Efl cup semi was brilliant down here.

I think a big part of it is that the singing/more boisterous fans have largely been priced out. I maintain that the atmosphere at St Marys was better with just over 20k in L1 than it is now.

I expect the pre match atmosphere round the pubs etc. to be better for the final rather than the game itself. Problem in the ground is a lot of singers are split up, if I get a ticket I will likely be away from the standing/singers :(

I would agree with that! deffo priced out.

I do wonder about leagues in europe and seeing guys there basically not watching the match hanging off barriers beating drums and directing their troops singing... oh now i know half them are fascists scum as well but... well it seems more than affordable still.

I can't save for house, kids education, pension and go off to football. Just can't.

I would be interested to see what you saints think of the EPL final at wembley. like you are going to sadly get torn apart but i think you'll need to choose which 10mins of which half you miss to go get raped with the price of a beer and pie at Ht.

They have fan zones outside Wembley now mate (or they did for the FA Cup SF last season at least) one either end for both sets of fans. A stage with music, bars food stalls etc it was really good tbf. Only one problem - no ****ing bogs, had to go in the Hilton next to Wembley arena ffs.

I missed the JPT final so not seen us at Wembley before... I won't be missing any of the game though. If the queues are that bad I'll **** it off until after the game.

This is, of course, providing I can get a ticket. I'm 90% sure I will, but won't be counting my chickens until ticket is bought though.

I decided to treat her indoors and went Club Wembley last season, it was very civilised, but heinously expensive.
