You are not hearing me when I talk about it being over the whole season. It is not about individual games. Anyway I got 30-1 odds at the start of the season (not very good compared to the 5000-1 on them winning it last year. So the bookies must see something in it.

Hmm, surely it pulls both ways doesn't it ?

For sure Monk behaves like a prat, but in a local derby where your rivals have scored very late in the game, the last thing you want to see is the opposition manager pratting around like a demented idiot in front of you.

I think both of them were well out of order.

Are you claiming that the cumulative effects of those 5 CL group games
(they fielded reserves for the 6th) in addition to the normal PL fixtures
is a key cause of the current squad collapse in the Leicester PL campaign ??

I think it had an impact on early season results.
Kante leaving and his replacement getting injured were bigger issues, though.
Everyone knows what their game plan is now, too.

Leicester were able to use a fairly small group of players for most games last season.
They could prepare well for each one too, as there weren't that many midweek games.

That's all out the window this time and they've been less fortunate with injuries, too.

The "perfect storm" of last season is no longer here, but the reality of several
different factors are. I will say that the CL has an effect on them though.
Specifically that the players appear to believe that is all that matters and the
PL campaign does not, together with a manager who perhaps should have been
laying the law that playing in CL games will have to be earned by PL performances.

Leicester look weak in all areas. Their title win seems more and more like a fairytale with every passing day.
They are a point above the relegation zone. Some of the teams around them are on the up and looking quite solid and resilient (Hull especially).
Champions, then relegated? It's looking very possible.

It would be great for them to have a CL adventure like Spurs 2010-11,
but their PL form is just so poor at the moment to try and do that.
Sevilla are at the minimum a UEFA pedigree team, but they are in the mix
for La Liga this season too (which makes them even more foreboding) . :(

    I don't get it.

IMO it was a fluke that they won it last season, didn't deserve it (again IMO), teams allowed them to win and played there best against us. They weren't good last season, a couple of players played decent but they have now simply reverted to what they were. Fact. They are back to where they were two seasons ago, struggling to stay up.

I remeber the days when we used to concede 31 goals 24 games. 16 this season after 24 games.

I see Maureen is still in complete denial, every key decision goes against United and referees are doing them no favours whatsoever according to him..... even though everybody else and their dog can see it is the exact opposite.

No - you have taken a small comment and turned it into a thread.
I was simply saying that for a small club - which Leicester are - they were always going to struggle the next year with a Champions League campaign. Even Spurs and Everton did and we are much bigger clubs - with stronger squads - it is not just the team.. More than that Leicester over achieved last year due to a fluke / perfect storm or whatever you want to call it. They were always going to have more injuries this year, star players often have a dip after a brilliant season, more games - and most importantly the psychology. Tell me that the Champions League has not featured massively on every player involved - where are they wanting to put in their best performances? The bookies and people like me took things like that into account. I did not really expect Leicester to do quite as badly in the league as they have - hence only a small bet. I thought mid table.
What I would bet you is that if West Brom go on a golden run and scrape into the Champions League they too would struggle next year.

Have you ever in your life watched a game where you didn't see a red card incident?

Not sure what you mean. Of course I have. Isn't it important that big decisions are correct? Unless of course they benefit certain teams disproportionately!

Did you think that it should've been a red card?
