At least its finally over. His silence, fair enough to the fans and media, but to the club itself was a disgrace. How can you properly plan ahead like that? Hopefully theres something in the whole Erik Pieters situation, which there seams to be.
It would seam pretty rushed though to agree a fee with PSV, have his medical and have him in the squad against Arsenal... but then who else plays there?

I'll certainly not wish Jose good luck though. Hated his attitude since February and will never wish a player luck when theyre moving from my team to another team in the same league to 'forward their career'. Whether thats me being bitter not, **** wishing them well.

He was easily ou best player through pre season though and havent watched much of this Pieters. Hopefully he's a little more defensive minded than Enrique, since we're gonna have to not let in as many silly goals as we did last season. Considering we stil have no REAL goalscoring threat up front yet.

Hopefully this means Gutierrez doesnt HAVE to play on the left due to his little relationship with Jose anymore. Hes instantly looks better whenever he switches to the right during games and i cant stand plays that run down the flanks and constantly have to pull back on to their other foot.

I don't know what everyone's worried about. After all, the six million will be reinvested in a replacement in its entirety.

By the way Maltese Mick, how about a heavy sarcasm smiley?

Hit the nail on the head there. Whilst it's disappointing to lose one of our better players, I can understand him wanting to go to Liverpool. Rich history, realistic chance of winning things and a club on the up. Hopefully we'll get a new LB in time for Arsenal and go on from there.

Good luck to him. Would rather of kept him for the last year of his contract tbh. Won't be going all spastic Tash though, unless we don't get a replacement.

People being pissed off at Enrique need to get over it, he is going to a club better than and which has ambition 10 fold ours.

Jose should certainly not be getting booed having given the club great service. He would not have years ago but in this day and age of fickle fans he probably will. Top player and top professional to boot. Has anyone got a sauce for these claims of he wanted CL football next season? Only comment I can find is Pardew saying he wants CL football. But that isn't Jose and isn't next season. Just people seem to be now holding up that as a reason to boo him and it baffles me, because I don't even think its true! Face it he's moving to a bigger and better run club with more ambition and more realistic ambitions of playing in Europe. Its a no brainer!

glad hes gone to be honest. its a shame as his silence and rant against the board made it clear he was unhappy here, the fact he made it clear he was leaving made it so we had to accept a crappy transfer fee!

Would be a big mistake to accomodate Saylor at right back so we could play Simmo left back.

This. Its not a sideways step at all. Its a step up to a club with ambition who will more than likely improve on last seasons position and get into europe. Whereas we wont be getting into europe anytime soon.

I really like the sound of that, but if we've never even attempted it before today in training then against Arsenal this would be suicide.
