Yes, that is odd. I know it no real excuse but I am going to say we have been fiercely unlucky in games. Those thin margins...
Just got in. Haven't read any of previous. Worst performance of season by mile. We lost on all 3x fronts. Tactics, quality & battling. So, so disappointed! Can someone please tell me JRod had an injury, otherwise he was playing for "another" team in 1st half & half time subwasno surprise. Very worrying we've been 1 up against Spuds, WBA & Span at home & lost the fringing lot (anymore?). Also, although I never had any "R" worries, just seen our next 3x PL games! Me thinks, we're in it now.
He's what we've been crying out for all season. Fair play to the board on that one. Still in many other aspects they've failed. Luckily I think we've got enough points to stay up this season. Next season is a whole different matter...
There is little doubt the majority think that Puel has been dealt a poor hand. Right from when he took over. Exactly how much say he had in any summer purchases is anyone's guess. Not getting an early striker was a major mistake in that window as was not getting a CB in this one. Both windows there was an error of judgement from someone whether that be Les or Puel himself that error could be costly and cost one or both their jobs! I guess we are all looking to blame someone but who will eventually accept responsibility I wonder?
Not read ANYTHING yet. Disappointing. Manolo, worth every penny. He sees the goal and shoots (rather than getting to the goalie and passing backwards). Tactics weird. We are not too good to go down. West Ham deserved it. we didn't. Trying to happy clap, but struggling. I really don't know how I lasted Dry January.... Anyway, let's move on. We 'should' be ok this year. I am beginning to worry long term though.
I have to agree with Beefy - the inherent problem lies with the Board who has shown very little ambition particularly from last Summer - Puel has got us to Wembley and for that l am grateful. Long term; is he the right fit; for me the jury is still out, but this current situation has not been caused by him.
Never got past your 1st line but it's spot on & no "mitigating" circumstances of injuries, too much £, couldn't find a comprimise, poor attitude, won't wash for me.
First time this season I am starting to question whether we are in, or on the verge of a relegation fight? Longest injury list in the league, played the most games out of everyone in the league and we still have the top 6 to play... a defeat to Sunderland next weekend and things will start to look very bleak 14 games to go, 6 of those against the top 6 so let's take those fixtures as bonus points. That requires 4 wins from the other 8 games to reach 39 points!! The Sunderland game is becoming more and more important the more I think about it!
I decided on a dry February thinking that as it is three days less than a dry January I might be able to make it through. Sadly thanks to today's result and not being very strong willed I am sat here with a glass of scotch in one hand while typing away with the index finger of the other.
The Palace home game will be massive!!! More so than the EFL Cup Final now that points on the board is imperative.
The only benefit from the last few games is I have made a fair bit backing us to lose as the bookies haven't seemed to notice that we aren't very good yet
A scruffy looking youngster with bum fluff all over his face ran up up to me after the match and asked "Dove posso prendere un aereo per tornare a Napoli?". I haven't a clue who he was but he looked pretty pissed off and was carrying what looked like a hastily packed suitcase. I couldn't help because I can't speak Italian.
Yes, yes, yes. And any opposition team / manager worth its salt will / have worked this out, which equates to a very uncomfortable end of season.
I thought Jack S had a decent game, at least when there is no out ball (very often) he is confident enough to bring the ball out of defence to create opportunities.
