Pedro had more right to be furious with Costa there, than Costa was with Pedro against Hull (?) the other week.
Astonishing. Under pressure the whole time, but carried the ball nearly 50 yards and scored. Brilliant.
Bmouth under more pressure than us, in my view. I don't want to sound harsh, but their football league players are finally starting to look football league. And their transfer dealings since being in the PL has been beyond awful.
A non-dig at Saints, in relation to Hull: the decision to replace Phelan with Silva looks pretty inspired so far. A dig at Saints, in relation to Hull: I see that BBC named Ranocchia as MOTM...
I thought I'd just have a look at the next few rounds of fixtures, to see what the table might look like around and below us - particularly given that we sit out a round of matches (Wembley!!)... Man City v Swansea Leicester v Man Utd Sunderland v Saints Arsenal v Hull Boro v Everton Stoke v Palace Burnley v Chelsea Swansea v Leicester Bmouth v Man City Chelsea v Swansea Palace v Boro Everton v Sunderland Hull v Burnley WBA v Bmouth Spurs v Stoke Leicester v Liverpool Takes us into March. A few random comments: 1) Not sure I'd want to be a Bmouth fan right now 2) I'm sure a lot of people would rather it not be the case, but we could do with Everton winning a few more matches 3) Chelsea too could help us out 4) For Boro, Palace and Sunderland, these could be two fantastic rounds of matches. Or could be very different. 5) What are we looking for now? To survive, or to finish in the top 10 or top 12? There's a few head-to-heads between the sides in "our group" and the sides in the "relegation group". It's possibly not entirely clear at this stage how we want those matches to go. 6) Swansea v Leicester looks, er, big
Well Bournemouth are worse at defending than we are. But then again they scored 3 goals, weird match.
You may be right. I was more looking at Everton. I think it's noteworthy that Koeman, who some on here now believe isn't all that good a manager, has Everton up in 7th (and not too far off 6th).
Could he? I wasn't aware that we already had (and then duly kept!) Lukaku, Coleman, Barkley, Mirallas etc. Similarly, I wasn't aware that we were willing to pay £30m for Bolasie, £20m for Morgan, £10m for Williams, £8m for Gueye, £10m for Lookman - all whilst selling just one (very over-rated, in my view) player. Alternatively of course, if you believe that with our current squad he could have us safely up in 7th place right now (almost as close to 4th, as to 8th), then that says a massive amount about Puel. (Apologies if I've got the price tags slightly out)
Half time at Palace must have been one of the most vitriolic reactions ever. I think they will finish 20th now.
