Now that Jose has gone who will play LB against Arsenal?

    The possibilities:
Ferguson - He is injured so can't play.
New LB (Pieters)- If we actually sign one in time, it is Newcastle we are talking about.
Dummett - Fitness issues as he pulled out of the Wales match last night with a knock.
Kadar - Is he fit? He hasn't featured in pre season.

    Players out of position:
Perch - Awful, gladly Pards doesn't rate him either and he has shown he is willing to play youth players ahead of him.
Jonas - Plays RB for Argentina and LW for us so why not LB, he is pretty awful in the full back role though. Could he do a job for one game?
Tav - Out on loan, could he be recalled?
Saylor - Say's he will play anywhere so he could be an option.
Simpson - Then who will play RB?
Raylor - Very right sided and he often struggles on the left.

Hopefully we get a new player in but if we don't I think one of these would be the best option for our back four against Arsenal:

    Saylor (RB)-------Willo---------Colo---------Simmo

    or

    Simmo-------Saylor---------Colo---------Dummett

    or

    Simmo-------Saylor---------Colo---------Raylor

    or

    Simmo-------Saylor---------Colo---------Kadar

    or

    Raylor-------Saylor---------Colo---------Simmo

    or

    Simmo-------Saylor---------Colo---------Jonas (with Marv LW)

Would you say there would be any other options that could work? What's the general opinion for the best option?

I'd actually play Jona there as he has experience for Argentina.

an arsenal minus - fabregas, nasri, van persie potentially. Spirits will be rock bottom knowing two of their best players have gone. Just sayin :)

Fergie has been training and played at LB against Stoke and Wolves, so i'd guess he'll get the spot against Arsenal

    Lee Ryder
Shane Ferguson in full training today ahead of #afc clash #nufc

I'd play Fergie but will he be fit enough after missing all of pre season through injury? Would it not be better to play someone who is more match fit? If Fergie is fit enough I would play him though.

I would go with Dummett. I would prefer an inexperienced player playing in the right position rather than an experienced one playing out of position!!!

My last comment was based on the assessment that Fergie wasn't going to make the Arsenal game. If Fergie's fit he starts, even though I think he looks more like a winger than a fullback!!

From nufc.com Squad: Alan Pardew will be without Hatem Ben Arfa (leg) Shane Ferguson (ankle) and Danny Guthrie (ankle) but Cheick Tiote has returned from Africa.
From Lee Ryder: Shane Ferguson in full training today ahead of #afc clash.

Conflicting reports so I don't know which to believe. However even if Fergie is back in training surely he will be lacking an awful lot of match fitness (having just come back from injury and he has missed all of the pre season). Therefore would we not play someone who is match fit?

Perch has only played LB once and had a decent game <ok> I'd rather see Raylor playing there until we can get a proper LB in.

He played RB for Argentina and was useless - he has no defensive abilities.

    Krul
    Willo Taylor Colo
    Simpson-------Tiote---------Guti
    Barton-----Cabaye
    Best Ba

3-5-2, Guti and Simpson playing as quite deep right and left mids and rarely coming forwards..

Would that get ripped to shreds vs Arsenal?
