Aye but your giving Arsenal "official" team news, I mean sure it's been reported but still this is like giving away team news as no doubt he would have been pinned to start for us at LB.

Possibly true, but on the other hand, Arsene will have seen a lot of Jose play, so know how to play against him. Now he's going to have to prepare to play against an LB even we don't know who it could possilby be, which could work out to our advantage?

This lol. No idea why some people are starting to crap themselves and throw insults all over, who the hell didn't expect this to happen? He's been moping around for ages and clearly couldn't be arsed towards the end of last season.
Good luck to him, but I won't give much of a **** about caring how he does from now on. Shame he went against his word of switching only for CL football but Liverpool have more ambitious owners than us now and therefore more chance of the CL football he wants eventually.

Won't forget his goal in the Championship which he was clearly over the moon with, good times <ok>.

I'm genuinely not sure how often Arsene Wenger uses twitter to work out opposition's likely line-ups.

I guess it's not the shock that he's gone, but the timing of it. Just like with Carroll, it happens at exactly the wrong time, and though we have a few more hours to get a replacement, we didn't get the replacement BEFORE we let the transfer go through.

Seriously? We have known for some time that he wants to go and we have known for some time that Liverpool were interested. No shock whatsoever.

If NUFC already tied Pieters up before letting Enrique go then it won't be so bad. He hasn't got long at all to gel before the Arsenal game though. In fact, he has pretty much no time.

Let's just hope that he keeps his head screwed on and does what he can rely on himself to do - stop other players getting through. Save any creative link-up play for a different game.

I am quite pleased this is now sorted and 6 million for a player who:

    1.) Wants away anyways and...
2.) Is out of contract next summer.

Is actually quite a good deal. Add into the wages we are saving and we can put this towards a good left back which hopefully ill be Pieters.

Krul came out with a statement about him prior to the international matches and is good freinds with him so I think he will come. It gives us time to sort it too.

Yes there is not much time before the Arsenal game but man they have problems of their own.

We have a one out one in policy (by the looks of it) so I fully expect more movement in the next 48 hours.

    I HOPE!

    Thanks Jose for everything!

Was kinda hoping for about 8-9m, but maybe that's to much. They've got a great deal there!

Best of luck to Jose and his spanish dreams. Hope Liverpool are **** next season though!

Haha, that's not how I meant it. But everything that gets put on twitter by Barton gets to media outlets now, be it websites or newspapers. You can't tell me there's not people connected with the club that don't have some kind of media link?

    ^^^^^

    This <ok>

Deal with it people it's nothing like Carroll, we knew Jose wanted away and liverfool was after him. So what it's 2 days before the KO of the season, the transfer window is still wide open and it looks like we have a replcement line up.

Arsenal look set to loose both Fabregas and Nasri before Saturday which to me is a lot worse for them!!!!

This 100% this is a positive move for Enrique, as Liverpool ARE better than us and there signings show that they have the ambition to get CL football. You can't expect Enrique to spend the rest of his life at the toon, and instead of moaning we should wish him well and move on

My favourite player going to my least favourite club, so that is not good!

But totally expected and can't say I blame him really. I can't say I wish him well though because I can never want the Bin Dippers to do well.

£6m is probably about right for a player with one year to go, who has stated that he won't sign an extension. If we hold out for more we may end up with nothing but a sulky player who doesn't want to play for the shirt.

Bring on Peters and lets move on!

And the drama queens, have a word with yourselves it is embarrassing!

As disappointing as it will be to see the decent left-back go, it was always gonna happen. So i'm just glad its happened before the start of season and not on deadline day. Where we could have found ourselves in an 'Andy Carroll' situation of not having, or having the time, to bring anyone in to replace him. We have 3 weeks to find that somebody which is more than enough time.

After all, he's only an above average left-back IMO. There's plenty of those around.

This is definitely a worry for me. Of course, there's not a massive amount of different roles for full backs, really. So it's not really much of a worry at all.
