He's on every top club in europe's wish list, no way will this make a blind bit of difference to whether he goes in summer. If it was an ACL or something really nasty perhaps but if he's back in training before the end of the season (and probably even if not) the clubs who want him wont care. Also I always am amazed he's only 25!! There is going to be one hell of a bidding war this summer haha.
I can see VVD staying another season to be honest. More so if we win the cup and get into Europe again. Of course, if that happens there will be some saying we can live without him anyway (don't even think it Les - I was joking...)
That's the thing though. A back three. We've got no idea what he is like as one of two CBs. As part of a three, he always had two other CBs with him (usually Vigil and Fonte) and had the freedom to drift out to his usual LB position to cover for when Targett was up field. I'm not sure I'd be particularly comfortable with Bertrand playing alongside just one other CB. Things like positioning and aerial ability become of greater importance. There's also the fact that we'd be losing him from LB. We're hardly the most attacking, forward-thinking team around. As well as McQueen has done, I do think removing Bertrand's forward runs would just be shooting ourselves further in the foot when it comes to attacking - all in a last ditch attempt to cobble together some sort of makeshift CB pairing.
I know you're joking but to be honest I can't really begrudge him a big move this summer. He's always put a huge shift and looks like he really cares whenever he plays. He's also at a level where he can go on and become one of the top CBs in the world. It's not like Lovren where he had one half decent season and demanded to leave. Of course would be amazing if he stayed!
I don't think that Gardos is anywhere near as bad as people think, he has only lacked gametime beacause of a mixture of injury and being a back up.
Just seen Callum Wilson is out for the rest of the season... Maybe Bournemouth will give us a CB if we give them a Strik..... Oh wait.
I think I've only seem him play like twice but remember thinking he looked very good. He's been out for so long it's unreasonable to have any sort of expectation for the rest of the season. Even the season after will probably take a while before he's up to full speed, just look at what's happened with J-Rod.
Bertrand is one of our best attacking outlets, it'd be crazy to move him to CB. He might not even be any good in a back 2.
Well that's a blow and no mistake. Poor Virgil, he must be gutted at missing the final. I just love the way people use this news as another stick to beat the board with! You don't think they actually tried to get another CB in, or couldn't be bothered? I'll say it again: you can't just buy players off the shelf like tins of beans, or like you can on Football Manager!
How long does it take to heal a broken ankle? It takes at least 6 weeks for the broken bones to heal. It may take longer for the involved ligaments and tendons to heal. As mentioned above, your doctor will most likely monitor the bone healing with repeated x-rays. This is typically done more often during the first 6 weeks if surgery is not chosen.
