It's an interesting point, I played the other week and someone mentioned jokingly that I never use my left foot. We then went on to realise how the hell can so many professional footballers not use their weak foot, they play the game every single day and can't use their weak foot, I find it really odd.
Presumably they can't all go into the first team at the same time. I think it's quantity rather than quality. Well, proven quality anyway. In our position, quantity was probably the important thing.
Alex Bruce had a beast of a game when we beat Liverpool 3-1, had Suarez's pants well and truly down and for that I will always be grateful, had is limitations but never let us down, certainly moves on with my best wishes and no regrets over 'nepotism' and his time here. If we do sign this Salibur lad, as has been pointed out on another thread we'd most likely have to lose a current first teamer from the squad, wonder if MS has plans to tout any of the current lot on loan when the window opens
Said this for years... on the most part they're at training, including a meal and meetings, for 4-5 hours a day. How the **** can they not squeeze in an hour minimum a week for everyone to use their weak foot? You'd soon see a huge difference. How someone like Veron can get so far and be so one footed always baffled me.
Surely you'd think they would even do some kind of 5aside game only using their weak foot or something of the sort, I can't get my head around it! It's a huge disadvantage, look at players like Snodgrass who often play on the right, everybody knows which way they are going to go before putting the ball in, what a huge asset it would be to be able to go either way and have good delivery whichever foot you use.
It is dumb, thought I think a lot of it is driven by just how good they are with their strong foot, i'm no Pele, but play(ed) at a decent enough standard, I can use my right foot, i'm competent with it, but in a match situation, subconsciously, unless I have to use my right, i'll pretty much always use my left foot, whether it is an outside of the foot job or cutting back, it just happens.
I know Dario Gradi used to get his youth teams to do precisely that - they played full sessions only using their weak foot. But the less said about Crewe youth football these days the better...
The window's closed, nobody else can go out on loan, if we were to get Sailbur, it would almost certainly be Luer who'd be sacrificed.
It turns out Jordan Rhodes to Wednesday is only a loan, though with a deal to make it permanent ahead of next season.
We both agree the owner is a twat. This was clearly getting him away from the club. Nothing to do with being a selling club, just normal Allam nonsense. Time to move on and fight the fights worth the effort. Support the team and the manager, it's all uphill.
We've already got 6 loanees in our 25 man squad. Can only use 5 in a match day squad. That's going to need managing. Liverpool and Everton games are the only 2 won't be affected due to Markovic and Niasse
We are bottom of the league We play Man U, Liverpool and Arsenal in our next 3 Games We are in the WORST position possible
It's a question of the Premier League accepting that the deal we submitted was actually submitted on time, we can't change the terms of it and as Chilton's said, we've already got too many loans as it is.
