    Really disappointed. Was hoping for at least one more keeper. If we have 4 or 5 goalkeeper injuries then the board have a lot to answer for.

    Let's hope VVD is only out for 2-3 weeks at the most? Always thought Les had 3-4 names in each position?

    In the situation we're in if you fail, you're not trying hard enough.

    This is clearly part of a masterplan. The board have listened to the fans complaining about too many dull, low-scoring games. Prepare for a flood of 4-3 games!

    Will Wood or Alfie Jones as fourth choice or we switch Bertrand into the middle I guess.

    Still doesn't mean you can just buy them like a tin of beans though. There are a million things that can stop a deal going through.

    If Van Dijk is back in 3 weeks times, I'm hopeful we will be alright with Yoshida, Gardos and Stephens. Bertrand proved he is a more then capable CB too last season, so could always play there if need be.

    Gardos injured again? Or just not good enough right now?

    So poor. We had 30 ****ing days and didn't even need to sell Fonte until we had a replacement. Thankfully this sort of crap isn't something I'm used to from our board and I hope it's a one off.

    Feel pretty sorry for Puel. If we slump massively now, it will be all on his back. But to me it will be LR to blame. He knew Fonte wanted out in the Summer, agreed to sell, then had no back up plan once a deal fell through for Tasci if rumours are true?Very poor.

    So you think it's ok to leave Puel with the 3rd, 4th and injured CB for up to possibly 3 months of the season?

    As my wife is fond of saying...is that it?

    I've been doing this for a month and my reward is ONE proper signing... one that should have been made back in the summer anyways.

    I am disappointed. My god, they must be tripping over piles of cash in the offices at St Mary's. Where does it all go, I wonder?

    Gk jokes don't actually make much sense tbh.

    Gazzaniga = loaned out

    Taylor= too out of shape and old

    Forster= 1st choice

    Hassan = back up

    Lewis= can now go back to being number 1 in the u23's

    McCarthy= out for the season

    Of course I don't, and I don't suppose Les Reed does either. I'm just pointing out that buying players isn't straightforward.

    Maya and Stephens have played above expectation, many have even said Maya's been better than Fonte was this year. So Fonte -> Maya, Maya -> Stephens, Stephens -> Gardos. Meaning covering the Virgil injury is the issue, which means either Gardos is the cover for a month or we get a loan, if you're getting a loan to be cover for a month and then 4th/5th choice after they're gonna have some major drawbacks or they wouldn't come. So not necessarily an improvement on Gardos. Another CB injury and we're in the same kind of spot we'd be in with two CB injuries anyway.

    Would've been good if we could've got a long-term player like Schar in (which we seemingly tried to do) but if we couldn't I'd rather we wait 'til the summer than panic.

    Don't really get the snide comments during/after tonight's game as neither goal had anything to do with either CB, the first was Romeu's responsibility and the second was the fullbacks.

    Personally I'm as excited by Stephens as I would be by signing a prospect or loan player.
