I am trying to understand what Can's role is in this game. He has not played bad but if you are going to be Lallana's replacement, then you need to be arriving in the box for the over load. He is not doing it so we are finding both he and Wijnaldum are out of the box when both Clyne and Milner have the ball. It's basics here and the lads are not applying it. Hendo sits and Wij and Can both force the agenda because Firmino is isolated. If all else fails get mane to run at Cahill and Alonso

No he deliberately slowed up and stepped into our player who not only didn't expect it but put an arm on his back so clattenburg could blow up. To say he lost it and just reacted is not giving him credit for the premeditated cheating he does so skillfully. He bought the free as it were.
We have a lack of players that run into the box. Nobody wants to play off the shoulder of the defender, nobody wants to do anything except wait on the outside of the box waiting for someone ELSE to run into the box. Christ. Get in there and pass it in there. Stop ****ing passing around the outside of the box. Shoot. Please, shoot at least once. You cannot pass it into the net. It's not possible, seriously stop ****ing trying every single time. This sort of match is what I dislike about Firmino as well. His touch lets him down, his final end product is worse than Suarez's in that first half-season. Fancy footwork but always makes the wrong decision. He's good but I feel there is a disconnect, he's not thinking about playing smart, he's trying to do everything first time.

Looks Chelsea are playing exactly the same as Saints and Wolves. Defend with loads of players in the middle and counterattack. As usual our possession stats are impressive but they are just containing us well at the moment. We need a change.
Matip has been a bit slack when he has the ball. Couple of times he has just passed it to Chelsea players when a very easy pass was on. Need to bring Can off, put Lallana in the middle and Origi or Mane out wide. Might as well lose 3-0 as 1-0
Totally agree, there's no selfless running to pull players about. If Firmino does run then there no gap for another player to go in. It's all about the front guy making some run and starting the thing off. The problem is all origi wants is to be central and sturridge wants it to the to show boat so nobody is making spa e and pulling defenders around.
Well, we're back to being a swarm of stingless bees. Not excuse for us getting beat, but the officials... it was never a free kick, but it wasn't as if he gave them a pen; but the one that infuriated me was that offside there wih Milner - that's the umpteenth time we've seen thick linos give offside fro throw-ins, when players are behind the ball or, as in this case, it travels backwards. Utter ****wit. That off my chest, this is depressingly what we expected, AND, we're still out of the FA cup.

I don't think Mingolet is stopping that even if he is set. We looked in control for 15 mins but since the goal we've become impatient and decided that controlling the game is not needed. We have to calm down and play the right way, get control then pick up the tempo at the right time, be brave and take a man on in the right areas. It's not looking good.
