Deserves a thread of his own today. Hope he gets a rousing reception against Liverpool. Ehab accepted the bid and the player refused to leave for Burnley. That’s the commitment that we need. Just wish we had him on a long term contract, which surely now must be priority.
He might be slightly suspect defensively, and his final ball isn't always consistent, but he is still only 22 and can only get better. Fair play to him if he wants to stay.
If the claim at the start of this thread is the player himself refused to go, then that's a hell of an endorsement for Silva. When was the last time one of our players refused to go to a higher placed club? I suspect however that it was Silva asserting his authority. Even if he's not a huge fan of Robertson it was an important thing to do to show Ehab he cant just do what he wants.
Has he actually rejected a move? Silva's comments earlier today didn't seem so clear cut as that. Or have I missed something since?
I suspect he is a huge fan. Robertson is by far our best player and I think also a very important part of the dressing room.
FFS Truth? Evidence? The reality is more Likely to the Burnley bid has generated other clubs interest and pushed forward their claims. I suspect we have aborted a January sale to negotiate a summer move with a bigger club for more cash. The notion he has done this is quaint. He may have refused the move because his agent has promises elsewhere. He hasn't refused a move based on loyalty.
He rejected a move now when others are jumping ship.... thats loyalty irrespective of what happens in summer, where i suspect he will end up somewhere bigger.
I read yesterday that a £10m bid from Burnley had been accepted by City (= Ehab); Today it seems that Silva nixed it. Edit: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...tml?ITO=1490&ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490
Hang on, I thought we established that once you accept a bid on anything in life there is literally nothing you can do to change your mind and go back on that?
Huddlestone, Dawson, Davies, all in front of him. Mason, Clucas push him and not faded by him. Fact of it is, it is more relevant to ask who is the most consistent (in a good way).
