No rest for the ****ing wicked <ok>

Nope.

Had insomnia since I was a kid. By time I was in my twenties I'd probably only sleep more than an hour 2 or 3 nights a week. Typical schedule for me was 2 nights awake, third night sleeping. Never used to impact me unless I went three nights in a row without sleep. I'd stay up all night reading or playing computer... It was actually kinda cool... Like extra "me" time.

The last few years though I've been getting insomnia less. I can usually sleep now. I'm getting old <laugh> I'm a zombie now if I go two nights without sleep and feel nauseous all day if I go one night. I have no where near the resilience I used to have to being sleep deprived. I try to stay off electronics at night if I can't sleep because once I get on it's basically me giving in to no sleep- electronics keep me awake now. Me getting online at 3am this morning was me officially giving up on trying to sleep last night. <laugh>

Don't want to be alarmist, but take care of yourself over that. Persistent insomnia can have more wide-reaching effects than just feeling dopey during the day.

Something genetic. Dad had it and followed same pattern and grandfather had it too. They both had it diminish with age as appears to be happening with me.

My son and the eldest of my two daughters also seem to have inherited it.
