I don't know much about the internal politics of Scotland apart from the obvious, but it does seem to me that TM is looking less and less in control as people of all persuasions condemn her support of Trump and then her crumbling under pressure.

A survey by Sky News showed 72 per cent of British people thought Theresa May should call out Mr Trump’s behaviour, even at the risk of damaging her relationship with the president.

The same surveys that said remain would win and Clinton was leading? All phoney as hell!

In terms of number of votes, she was leading. And she won, on number of votes. Nearly 3 million more than Trump. Not a nice lady, but it's getting that Genghis Khan would've been a more compassionate leader than Trump - and Trump is only days into office.

True - first he came for the Latinos, the Muslims, women, gays and poor people, then he attacked international peace alliances.

    Then it was Wednesday...

Only the BBC appear intent on causing trouble for Theresa May. Admittedly politicians are all completely useless at answering direct questions and answering that US policy is for the US might seem to some like a cop out, but she was asked a question in the wrong forum and got an answer. That may not be what the journalist wanted to hear but an answer was given.

"Yesterday, the President removed the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the Director of National Intelligence from the NSC. He replaced them with Steve Bannon. Bannon has no government, intelligence, or high-level military experience; his experience is leading a propaganda outlet (Breitbart News) that peddles nationalist and white nationalist viewpoints.
This would be deeply concerning in and of itself. But one of the jobs of the NSC is to oversee a secret panel that authorizes the assassination of “enemies of the United States Government” – including American citizens. These targeted killings are fully authorized by law under the Congressional military authorization act following 9/11. There is no trial, no due process, and no public record of the decision or the assassination itself.
Just to recap the absurdity: the President of the United States has appointed a known propagandist, nationalist, and white supremacist to replace the highest military adviser in the country on a council that authorizes secret, legal, targeted killings of American citizens (and others) without due process"

It doesn't look very smart when the majority in the referendum was about 1.3 million TM rushed around to say that we must take note of the will of the people, yet now when at the last time of looking 1.4 million had said they don't want Trump to be given a state visit to the UK she chooses to ignore them?

There is no correlation between the two. One was a referendum authorised by a vote in parliament the other merely a protest.
The US president is the freely elected leader of our closest ally and trading partner. There is no chance of a UK government revoking this invitation.

Where were the demonstrators when Putin came to town? He has been involved in torture and ordering murders for years, at least one of these on UK soil.

The people's will, if that is the way people are calling it, declared that Britain was to embark onto a journey - it said nothing about where the destination was to be. If the destination is to be that Britain jumps further into bed with the USA. at the cost of the environment and working conditions for the people of this country, it will have no mandate behind it. Under what stretch of imagination can the expression 'our closest ally' be used about the USA. ? And what does this remark tell us about the real reasons for Brexit ?

When did Putin come to town? Oh, 2003. No correlation between what he was then and now. You will be using the visit of Tsar Alexander II in 1874 to prove your point next. :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Lovely to see that after Gove had been to visit Trump he said that Clinton would have been a better President.

We are talking about Putin the ex director of the FSS (KGB) before 2003. He also visited London 2012. Putin has ordered several murders. You can also add the Chinese leader, responsible for repression and killing on a grand scale.

Gove was saying before the election that he preferred Clinton but he has since made it clear that Trump was democratically elected according to their accepted system and should be respected as the US president. A sensible view.

Putin came to see the judo at the Olympics in 2012. Doesn't sound that official. Why are we wanting to have much stronger links with China then? Sorry don't get where you are going.

No, SH. This was the day after he had been holding hands with Trump and arrived back in England.

Putin had official meetings with the UK PM.
The hysteria building up over Trump's visit is illogical and purely political. If people fairly judged the suitability of foreign leaders visiting the UK they would have demonstrated in larger numbers against the Russian, Chinese and Saudi leaders. All of these have real blood on their hands.
I am just pointing out the hypocrisy of the current 'mock horror'.
