If I was the FA I would fine the top 5 teams there, that is poor, seem to remember Blackpool making 9 or 10 changes for a Premier League match at Aston Villa and getting fined for it.
Why fine the top 5 only? So because Spurs won it was okay? Don't think it is up to the FA to dictate the strength of the teams that clubs can play. Its up to the clubs themselves. If they don't want to take the competition seriously its their's and their fans loss. Think its up to the fans to express their dissatisfaction with their teams attitude by not turning up to their next league game or protesting about it. I understand why the Premier League might fine teams for not playing their strongest sides in certain fixtures because its a league and what one team does may affect another. There have been a few instances of teams near the bottom resting their best players in games against the top teams so that they are fit for an upcoming game against another team at the bottom and they deserve a fine for that.
Im 27 and already resigned to the fact we won't win anything in my lifetime. We can't even take the greatest cup in the world seriously ffs. Shearer was spot on by the way it was a disgrace
I'm against fining clubs for using their squad. I'm for putting ****s like Rafa, Klopp etc in stocks so we can then throw condoms filled with spunk and last nights shat out cuzza at them Ultra thin condoms - so they can smell it once within a metre
Never said I would or wouldn't fine Tottenham or Watford, yeah Tottenham can use the argument they won but 9 changes is a lot. The fans had no choice in the team yesterday, some paid £21 for a ticket and £28 to get the bus down, to watch that team. We keep saying the FA Cup is magical and brilliant, these teams disrespected and seemed to be happy to go out. The portion of money for being in the Premier League compared to winning an FA Cup is ridiculous.
And even failed when he tried to change it, and ended up as "Amady". As dire as Colback is, we've had some far worse offenders: Faye Silvio Maric Geremi Bassadas Fumaca Andy Thorne etc
Clubs should be punished for treating the FA Cup with such disrespect. I would go further than fines; I'd start deducting points. Points deductions based on the number of changes they make to their starting line ups. So if a club makes 9 changes for example, they should be deducted 9 points and so on. The FA Cup has lost its prestige because clubs are now taking the piss. The best solution aside from above - Take away the 4th place Champions League spot and award the place to FA Cup winners. The incentive to win is there and teams would then play their strongest side with the promise of untold riches.
No to the first point, yes to the second. There's no way you can moderate and fine based on changes - football is a squad game. But managers like Monk, Benitez and Klopp should be WELL aware of what it takes to put out a competitive team. Make SOME changes, of course, but all three teams should have comfortably won. It's more alarming that Benitez, for us, seems unaware of how bad Perez, Sels, Good, Haidara, etc., actually are. I mean, wtf is he doing all week?? The incentive is good - but it sets a dodgy precedence for every other country. Not that I disagree, but there should be some European prestige and/or genuine cash on offer. £10m for winning it, place in CL would help.
You would also stop clubs from 'settling' for 4th place. Arsenal for example - Their fans are generally sick of the club striving to finish 4th every season.
I am starting to doubt the guy. We weren't just beaten by Oxford - We were thrashed. Curtis Good was not 'good' enough 3 years ago. Perez - This kid is a damp squib. He is anonymous most games and seems to fanny around on the ball most of the time. That and his diving. Haidara - Belongs back in the French second division. He is pure dog ****. Sels - dear god, where to start. It is clear to anyone that the guy is just not going to cut it.
It's simple stuff. Good is bad, Findlay looked ok. Why is the former playing? Surely the reserves set up is specifically there to work out if players are any good?! Haidara - was average before he got McManaman'd, obviously now he's worse. Perez, don't get me started. He's not a left winger, he's not a number 10. These are more or less the only places he's played. Under Pards when there were a few injuries he got a shot up front and scored a few goals. As soon as Cisse or whoever was fit, he's back in a number 10 or left wing role, struggling. It blows my mind - and this is under Pardew, McClaren and Rafa. I just don't get it, he's a striker. Not a very good one, but that's what he is. We keep shoe-horning him in there stupid positions and it never, ever, ever works - why is this "oh, we'll give him one more go" ever going to work?? It's just ridiculous. Sels is fcking abysmal. He shouldn't be anywhere near the first team. Woodman would be a better bet. Anita would be a better bet. I don't get the pig-headedness but I'm sure many a scouser would say "yep, that's Rafa". Rigidly sticks to the same system, repeatedly picks 'his' players regardless of form and repeatedly ignores those he just doesn't seem to want. I don't think for one second football management is like some stupid game I can't mention ('cos it's dogsh!t), but similarly it cannot be rocket science if a property developer can dump out Leeds with a bunch of part-timers. Look at Mark Warburton, ffs.
