Harsh...still young enough to improve with game time...just may not be good enough for Saints.

 

He's 24 and the highlight of his career was an average season with Barnsley in League 1. He's not a prospect anymore and the likelihood of any notable improvement seems to be very, very distant. Did he actually play against Arsenal yesterday? I remember him doing precisely nothing.

 

Atm he is probably League One level at best, sure he may improve, and with his contract up in the summer (surely we won't extend it again?) this is a good opportunity for a club to have a look at him on effectively an extended trial to see if they want to sign him in the summer. Ipswich did just sign a Forest Green striker who was bombed out of Yeovil reserves so maybe they aren't looking for players to help their first team straight away.

 

But he could improve playing regularly at a team at his own level. He will never improve or gain experience in a team where he will scarcely play. There is still a professional life outside of the EPL.

 

Not sure that we need another keeper.

 

Speaking of which anyone heard how Gazza is doing?

 

Maybe McCarthy isn't recovering that well? Better then having Taylor on the bench...
