How did he throw it away against Soton? We played our first team.

And the players on display today should have won.

I don't think so, tbh. They might have done ok if things had fallen for them, but that team was always ripe for the picking.
I don't know what it's like in Germany, but Klopp really has to learn that with the standard of opposition over here, even with lower league sides, if you don't show them respect and take them seriously, you can get caught out badly.

I understand what you're saying but wolves are 18th in the championship. You're giving them far too much respect.

From no defeats at Anfield for a year to three on the bounce.

    The Gerrard curse continues ...

You put out a weakened (kids) team against seasoned pro's and you risk winding them up to play at their upmost. You've seen full prem teams getting turned over by 'inferior' opposition time after time so why take the chance? I bet Lambert just showed them our team sheet and didn't have to say a word.

Doesn't matter who started the game, to wait 78 minutes to change things around is clearly not giving yourself the best possible chance to win the game, ergo threw it <ok>

Today wrong team to start and wrong subs - threw it.

Only two are regular starters in our strongest line-up.

Especially when that team has had a consistent lineup. Let us not forget that Rodgers got his 2nd using only 13 players all season and Ranieri kept a similar consistency to win the league. Then again, Rodgers also went out of both cups early that season.

Commentators will point to youngsters when you lose, then whine when England lose that young talent isn't being brought through. Twats.

Klopp is learning that the lack of a winter break can be a bastard but there's a possibility we might get one soon. Whichever, he's smart enough to learn quickly.

So part of the cup exits is down to his risk-taking - i don't think he's that stupid to underestimate these teams, he's smart enough to know these are the best opportunities to invest in youth for the future - and I think from his post-match comment that you're not allowed to blame the players, he partly blames the players. I'd agree. I don't think trying to walk it up the middle time after time was his plan.

Maybe so but to say it's an inexperienced and young team is not accurate.

    I'd stick Gini with Firmino.

Origi is only 21 so promising and definitely worth watching develop. The rest, **** or past it. Although Karius is improving (not hard).
