    If Virgil is out, we have to cast our net in this window. Cannot leave January without a CB....can't rely on Maya and Jack staying fit and in form. Would especially be hard on Stephens....we want him to have gained experience this season, but not to have got the fans on his back with inevitable mistakes. Not good for his confidence. On the other hand, he looks the real deal....so we don't want to push him down the order by rushing to purchase a player above him. A loan (not necessarily Tasci) is the answer.

    Can't remember another season where relegation rivals do business with each other. Has the money changed the rules even further? Bizarre.
    But Hull agreeing a fee with Burnley was strange, this is suicidal. I wouldn't trust Ellis to reinvest, so £14M might well be 14 pence.

    I don't mind Van Aanholt, think he's a decent player going forward, but is actually quite good at defending (albeit if it's mainly his due to his pace). Think that's a good signing for palace, agree the fee sounds ridiculous put into context with Van Djik's fee!

    He's a pretty poor defender tbh. Positioning etc. Isn't great at all.

    He's what I call a motd full back, looks great on highlights due to flying forward but lacks the basics to defend properly. Moreno a good example of this.
